Astavakra Rishi: Who proved that disability is not curse.

Astavakra Rishi: Who proved that disability is not curse.

In today's blog, we will discuss about Astavakra who proved that disability is not a curse.
India has been a country of many great men and scholars.  Who have given a new direction to the society from time to time through their knowledge, devotion and philosophy.  Rishi Ashtavakra is one of those great personalities who said that the truth is as it should be same to accepted. He considered the knowledge described in the scriptures to be only about defining life style and related to rules.  His invaluable deed to human society is the 'Ashtavakra Gita', a book based on the principle of Advaita Vedanta.  It is mainly described as a conversation of sages Ashtavakra and King Janaka.  Like the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and the Brahmasutra, the Ashtavakra Gita is also an invaluable book.  This book describes in detail the knowledge, Vairagya(disinterest), Moksha(Salvation) and samadhistha yoga and their conditions.

Disability is not a curse.  A person with disability can do whatever he wants on his own strength, ability and scholarship.  The sage Ashtavakra proved this centuries ago.  The body of sage Ashtavakra was crooked in eight places.  That is why his name was also named as Ashtavakra. People used to make fun of him by seeing his crooked body, but the sage Ashtavakra did not consider the crooke of his body as weakness.  Nor was he frustrated for this reason.  He continued on his path.  As a result, today, even after centuries, we remember him reverently.

In the present times too, all our focus is on external progress.  Today we pay more attention to outdoor appearance(external form).  Many people are worried about their body texture or appearance(form).  Many people also fall prey to depression.  The story of Ashtavakra gives them the message that if you develop your qualities, you can get respect despite physical shortcomings.

When we are surrounded by external problems, we get very frustrated.  This frustration gradually turns into hopeless.  Instead of fighting them, we start blaming others and get sadness.
However, there have also been people who have made the state of utter despair so positive that even after thousands of years, people give precedent.  We are talking about Ashtavakra, the author of the Ashtavakra Gita, the important text of Advaita Vedanta.
It would be surprising to know that his body was crooked from eight places!
In fact,he got the name 'Ashtavakra' on this basis.  In spite of having such a crooked body, he did not give up and became a respected scholar, while presenting the ultimate talent.
It is said that when he was in the womb, he had to become a part of the anger of the father and he took birth with a cursed body.
Why did the father curse his own son in the womb??
This is a very interesting but surprising topic!  Uddālaka sage was extremely pleased with the talent of his disciple Kahod.  When Kahod succeeded in acquiring knowledge of the entire Vedas, he got married to his beautiful and quality girl Sujatha.
Time passed and a new couple was about to give birth to a new child.  One day, at that time, they were studying vedas.  Then the child in Sujatha's womb spoke - 'Father!  You are misreading the Veda. '
On hearing this, Kahod turned red with anger and said, 'From the womb, your intellect is mischivousness and you have insulted me.  Therefore you will be curved (crooked) from eight places. '
A few days after this incident, Kahod went to the court of King Janak of Mithila to debate with a scholar named Bandi, where he was get defeated.  According to the rule, Kahod had to immersed in water.  Just after few day this incident, Ashtavakra was born.
The boy with crooked body could not see the father, so maternal grandfather Uddālaka considered him as his father and his maternal uncle Shvetketu as elder brother.  One day he was in his maternal grandfather's lap, when Shvetketu told him that Uddālaka was not his father.  Ashtavakra was shocked and asked to mother about his father.  Mother told him the whole truth.
After this Ashtavakra left for Mithila with his  maternal uncle Shvetketu without delay.  He went directly to King Janaka's Yagyashala to offer a talk to a prisoner scholar.  If the gatekeepers stopped him as a child, he said that no one becomes a big man only his hair turns white or gets older.  Anyone who has knowledge of Vedas and who is intelligent, he grows up.
Saying this, he entered the meeting of King Janak and challenged Bandi for debate.  But seeing the child Ashtavakra, all the members started laughing loudly.
Surprised everyone with his intelligence.
Seeing Ashtavakra, the laughter of the member of Raja Janaka's meeting was not stopping.  In fact, seeing the crooked from eight place while Ashtavakra was walking, all members of meeting included Raja Janak also started laughing.  On seeing people laughing, Ashtavakra also started laughing.  In fact, he did not mind at all on his disability.  He had acquired such scholarship(in sense of knowledge)that thinking and unhappiness did not suit him.
The members was laughing at Ashtavakra and then Ashtavakra on the members.  In such a strange situation, King Janaka asked Ashtavakra - "O child!  The laughter of the members is understandable, but why are you laughing?
Just twelve years old, all were stunned to hear Ashtavakra's answer.  Ashtavakra said - 'I laugh at the weicked intelligence of those who laugh at the crooked of my body.  All these people are suffering from mental conditions and they cannot be scholars at all.  That's why I'm laughing!
King Janaka patiently said to Astavakra, "O rude child!  What do you mean ...
Ashtavakra replied, 'All these are connoisseurs of leather, not of wisdom.  The sky does not become crooked due to the crooked temple and the sky does not burst due to the bursting of the pitcher.
It is formless and knowledgeable men also formless like as sky.  All the members were surprised and even ashamed to hear this knowledgeable thing from the child's mouth.  They deeply regretted their stupidity.

Rajarshi Janak himself took the his test.

After this incident, King Janak took the test of Ashtavakra himself.  Ashtavakra responded to all questions very cleverly.  Not only this, Bandi was also surprised by his scholarship (in sense of knowledge) and bowed down.
Ashtavakra requested to immerse Bandi in water due to the defeat of Bandi in the debate .
Bandi laughingly said that he is the son of Varuna and he has sent all the defeated Brahmins to the father.  Will call them back now.  This happened and all the defeated Brahmins came back.  Ashtavakra's father was also among them.
Ashtavakra was very happy to find his father.

He was angry at  Shankha's son Agha

Shankh's son Aagha was beautiful like Kamadeva and he had a lot of pride in this.  Once he was traveling on the Malayachala mountain.  Just then, his eyes turned on Ashtavakra.  He started laughing after laughing.  When Ashtavakra glanced at him, he explained him, but his laughter was not taking the rest of stopping.
Ashtavakra, having conquered the anger, cursed him to correct Agha's wisdom.  He cursed him to become the most curvy and sharpened of crooked species.  As soon as he heard the curse, Agha fell at the feet of Ashtavakra.
Ashtavakra felt pity.  He told Agha that soon Lord Vishnu is about to take an avatar and he will enter your stomach and gave salvation to you.  This Agha becomes Aghasura in Dwapar and swallows Krishna with friends and cows.
Lord Krishna tears his stomach and frees own friends and cows and gave salvation to Agha.
Ashtavakra's father Kahod is very pleased and advises him to bathe in the Samanga River.  To get rid of his father's curse, he bathes in the Samanga River and all his curved parts become erect.
The story of Ashtavakra teaches us to be patient as well as virtuous.
Knowledge is not bound by age limits, it is independent.  Therefore, the attachment of body, mind and intellect also has no effect on it.  Its biggest example is the sage Ashtavakra. He has said that the truth is as it should be same to accepted, his biggest gift is the Ashtavakra Gita to the society, in which he has expressed the truth and its different forms, which are relevant even today.

Sage Ashtavakra is known to tell the truth.  He used to reveal the truth as he experienced it.  Sage Ashtavakra preferred the truth derived from personal experiences.  He used to say that the truth is not in any book.  There may be rules and principles in a book, but it is not true.  Nor is there knowledge in the texts.  The light of knowledge remains inside a human being.

The sage Ashtavakra composed the book called Ashtavakra Gita, which contains his similar thoughts.  He came to know the truth of dharma by his own specific style and defined it in this way.  The sage Ashtavakra did not accept to follow the traditions.  He started new traditions.  His entire life is a source of inspiration.

It is a very special idea to call the disabled as Divyanga(in sense of some special quality or God gifted).  In fact, the human being whom God deprives him of any part and sends to this earth, he is a human being who undergoes something with a unique talent.  In the Puranas, history and modern society, there have been many such persons who were handicapped but proved to be Divyanga due to some or the other special organs.
Many scholars, many wise persons  have left their indelible mark on this earth through their special parts, despite not being a part.
Divyang are physically weak in body but none the less in terms of knowledge, intelligence, argumentive power and sharpness, examples of which are mentioned in Puranas and history.  It will be expedient to remember Ashtavakra in this context.  'Ashtavakra Gita and Ashtavakra Samhita' is related to the famous divyanga named Ashtavakra.
Surdas, despite having no eyes, has set a record with his unique talent.  His saga will remain entrenched on every human's memory till the ages.
The blind scholar Shri Giridhar Mishra who is known by the name of Rambhadracharya is possessed with such a genius of Shruti-Smriti that by listening to his grandfather only at the age of five years, Gita and at the age of seven learned the whole Ramcharitmanasa. He speak 22 languages.  Many languages have poetical poets. He is counted among the best experts of Tulsidas in India.  While neither he can read, nor write nor use Braille script, he learn by listening and write compositions by speaking.  He has written more than eighty books.
Arunima Sinha is one such talented.  Who has the distinction of being the first woman to reach Mount Everest with the help of artificial legs.  How can someone call them handicapped?  In reality, she is a Divyang.  How can we forget Sudha Chandran, who dances with artificial legs, then mesmerises the audience.
Look at Ira Singhal, she has shocked everyone with her talent.  Famous scientist 'Hawkins' listened, studied with the help of artificial instruments, but is considered the world's best scientist in the field of physics.
Prime Minister Modiji had said - "When someone is introduced as a disabled person, then the eye goes to the organ which does not work properly , whereas the reality is that the disabled also have the power that the common people do not have.  There is a divine specialty. I see the special power inside them as Divyang. "
The real handicapped is the one who despite being physically complete is lackrated without karma, blind without knowledge, heartless without love and inactive without intellect.
Seeing the divine qualities in them by Prime Minister Modiji, embellishing them with words like Divyang is highly appreciated.  Just as the water dropped from the sky reaches the sea through some way, so it is an honor to them all by the name of Divyang.  But is this name enough?  Will changing the human mind just by giving the name of Divyang?  Even today, they do not get the appropriate respect for which they are entitled.  Some people take advantage of their disabilities, even family members use to beg them and make their own means of earning.
By recognizing the extra talent and extra qualities hidden in the Divyang, if we can pay attention to the development of such skills, then perhaps we will be able to do some justice to them.  Every divyanga person has a special part and how the talent hidden in them can be highlighted and can be decorated and provide better conditions , if the government arranges  some special for them, then it will definitely scenry come in the life of those people.
This was the story related to Ashtavakra .... Later through this blog, I will present the story of the great Ashtavakra Rishi to all of you in detail. So wait till all of you.

Story of Indra & Vritrasura

Story of Indra & Vritrasura.

Once upon a time - a beautiful program of music & dancing was going on in the assembly of Devraj Indra.  Devguru Brihaspati reached in the during of the program.  Indra thought - such good music is going on, if I wake up in the middle, then there will be an obstacle in the music, if I do not wake up, Guruji will get annoyed. What should I do?
Thinking this, Indra ignored him and started looking at the other side.  He acted as if he had not seen Guruji.
Due to such behavior of Indra, Guruji got angry and left the gods.  Here when the demons came to know that  Devguru of the gods were angry with them, the demons attacked and defeated the gods and took away heaven from them.
Gods pray to Brahma Ji .
The deity became an orphan without a guru.  They could not see any support.  Then they went to Brahma ji.  Brahma ji rebuked then and said - You all have done this very wrong thing. The biggest crime is to annoy the Guru. Now, until you find a Guru, you accept "Vishwaroop" as guru, who is the same as Devguru Brihaspati in virtue, make him a Guru.  But his mother is of Asura dynasty, so sometimes he can favor Asuras - if you ignore this thing and walk it will become your job. These sutras(theory) are also for our life - which has many qualities and if there are one or two defects then we should learn to ignore them, only then you will be successful in life.

Gods reachieve the kingdom of heaven .

The gods made "Vishwaroop" a guru.  Vishwaroop performed the ritual of "Narayana Kavach" by Indra.  Now the Dev-Asura War took place. The gods emerged victorious due to the "Narayan Kavach".  The kingdom of heaven was again gotten to Indra. Now Indra started a yajna to protect the kingdom.  At the time of the yajna, Indra saw that Guru Vishwaroop was offering Ahuti(sacrifice) in favor of the gods in a manifest form and also in favor of the asuras in a covert form.  Indra got angry.  He raised the Vajra and cut Vishwaroop's head.
Ritual done by Vishwaroop's father for wishing to kill Indra.
Vishwaroop's father "Tavashtha" became angry when Vishwaroop died.  He started performing rituals to kill Indra.  He was vow to have receive a son by Havan(yajna) , who can kill to Indra. But due to inaccuracy of mantra's pronunciation, yagna produced a son.  But he was not to kill Indra, probably he was born to die at the hands of Indra.
Here it can be understood - the subject of ritual is difficult but devotion is simple.  If anything goes wrong in devotion, God takes care of us, but if there is something wrong in the ritual, it is our responsibility.
This son of Tvashtha, who was born from the yajna, surrounded all the worlds with his huge body, hence his name was "Vritrasura".  When Vritrasura roared, all the gods attacked on him.  Vritrasura grabbed those weapons which was used by gods and finally broke and ate them.
Now the Gods panic - he break the weapon and eat it, who will kill him?  The gods ran away and started praising God.

Lord Vishnu tells the gods to solution of Vritrasura slaughter.

Lord Vishnu appeared and said - Listen, Indra!  There is a solution but it is difficult to do.
Indra said- You just tell me the solution, it is my job to do it.
God said - If Vajra is made from the bone of Dadichi Rishi, then Vritrasura will be killed.  But Dadichi Rishi is alive, bone will be found when he sacrifices.
Indra said - God!  You have told the solution, now it is my job to ask for bone from Dadhichi sage.
Now Indra reached Dadhichi Rishi, bowed and said - Rishivar !  I want your bone.
Dadhichi said - Indra, didn't you consider it?  If God asks for the bone of the person who wants to survive, then he can refuse to give it.
Indra said- I understand that it is unfair for me to ask for your bone, but the problem is so severe that I am forced to ask for it.  If you give your bone, then the life of all the gods will be saved.
The Dadhichi sage meditated on the Lord Shiva and renounced his body through yoga.  After that Indra made a Vajra from the bone of the Dadhichi sage.
The war between  Indra And Vritrasura.
After attaining Vajra, the gods were filled with enthusiasm.  All the demons who come with Vritrasura started running due to fear.  Here Vritrasura shouted loudly and moved towards Indra. Indra used his gada(mace).  Vritrasura strikes the forehead of Airavat, the elephant of Indra with his left hand.  Due to which Airavat's forehead exploded.
Indra was afraid.  There is Vajra in his hand, which is made from the bone of the Dadhichi sage, yet he is afraid that, what happen if it will be wasted like mace.
Vritrasura says- Indra!  Why are you not using Vajra?  Don't think that mace like Vajra will be wasted.  There are three powers in the Vajra - 1. Lord Narayana 2. The penance of Sage Dadhichi 3. The destiny of Indra.  You strike!  You will surely get success.
Indra, I am happy in both situations - even if victorious, I will avenge my brother.  Happy even if defeated because after dying this my physical body will be used by animals-birds  and I will leave this body and go to Vaikuntha dham.
Indra panicked after hearing this. Now he unable to attack with Vajra.
Vritrasura says- As long as you are not striking Vajra, then I meditate on my God.  Vritrasura closes his eyes and reaches Bhava Samadhi(spiritual stage). Talks to God- Lord!  After some time, leaving this body, I am going to come at your feet, I am going to come to your abode.  I know the outcome of this war, what will happen?  Indra will win, I will be defeated in this war.
God said - But I never let my devotee be defeated.  How did you think that you will be defeated?
Vritrasura smiles- Lord!  I know, whoever wins, he will get heaven and who will be defeated, he will get Baikunth.  You will not give small things to your devotee!  Therefore, I know that I will be defeated in this war.
Slaughter Of Vritrasura
When Vritrasura came out of Bhav Samadhi(spiritual stage), he sees that Indra is standing with Vajra in his hand.  Vritrasura said- "Indra!  Have you come to war, or come to see me?  Strike with Vajra at me ! "
Indra says- O Demon king Vritrasura!  We gods call you demon, but you look like a perfect mahatma(great soul).  Even in this adverse situation, so much loyalty, so much love for God, so much love is not seen in the great siddhas mahatma(great soul).  You are a proven great divine soul.
After this, Indra attacked Vajra on Vritrasura.  Vritrasura's head was severed from the torso.  A divine light came out and went to the abode of God.
Lessons from the story
(a) ● One should always respect the gurus and respectable people, otherwise our age, strength, intelligence, sharpness are diminished.
(b) ● If you do some puja, yagya with some wishes and if there is some mistake in the pronunciation in mantras, then its reverse results  happens, but if you do devotion with the utmost sense then God forgives all the mistake.

(c) ● The devotee has so much faith in God that even under adverse circumstances he is not afraid.  Vritrasura has so much love for God that he was not afraid at all.

This is a short story of Vritrasura… which is also mentioned in the Shri Bhagwat Purana, Ramayana, Shivmahapurana, Mahabharata…. It is also necessary to know why Vritrasura was a devotee of God even when he was a demon….  I will definitely write this topic in future . Currently, you all to know that Vritrasura was cursed by Mother Parvati.

When Narada was do arrogance of being the greatest devotee in the world.

When Narada was do arrogance of being the greatest devotee in the world.

Once, there was a pride rises in Narada's mind that he is the biggest devotee of Lord Vishnu.  They started thinking, 'I sing Lord Vishnu's glory night and day.  Then who can be a bigger devotee than me in this world?  But I do not know whether Srihari also understands me like this or not? '

Considering this, Narada reached to Lord Vishnu at Kshirsagar and bowed to him.

"Come Narada!"  Vishnu said, "Tell me how did you come?"

"I've come to ask you one thing, Lord."  Narada said.

"I know your mind, Narada.  Still want to hear from your mouth. "  Vishnu said.

O, God!  I have been praising you throughout my life, every moment, I only meditate you.  Tell me if you have any other devotee bigger than me in the world? "  Narada asked.

Vishnu had already understood that Narada has developed pride on his devotion, but hiding his mind, he said, "Narada!  For this question you will have to go with me to earth. "

"I'm ready, Lord."  Both started walking toward the earth.

Upon reaching the earth, both of them took the disguise of the farmer and walked towards a hut built on the side of a village.  Vishnu said, "Narada!  A great devotee of mine lives here in this hut. "

"Wonder, can anyone have more devotion than me."  Narada exclaimed, "Does he, like me, ? Does he keep your's form meditation in own mind anytime ?"

"Come, you will know yourself."  Vishnu said and headed towards that hut.

The farmer was tying his cow outside the hut at that time.  The voice of 'Hari, Hari Govind' was coming out of his mouth.  Farmer's form Vishnu went near him and said 'Narayan-Narayan', the farmer asked in a polite voice, "Where have you come from, Bhadra(Gentleman).  Please tell without hesitation if you have any service for me. "

"We are going to the city, but darkness has begun to come."  There is a fear of wild animals in the forest.  That's why we want an overnight shelter. "

"Welcome to my hut, Bhadra(Gentleman) and whatever some little amount of food, is present for you."  God has given me an opportunity to serve you people, it is a great blessing. "  The farmer said happily.

Putting the two out on a cot in the hallway, the farmer went inside and said to his wife, "Goddess!  Two guests have arrived. "

The farmer's wife was serving food to her children at that time.  Gently showing the pot of flour, she said, "There is no much flour in the house, and these children are asking for more food."

No problem.  We will provide the guests with a full meal. ”  The farmer said, " Today you make kanji drink for childrens ."

Narada and Narayana heard the whole conversation of the both of them, yet sat eat of food for test.  When the two were ate full of food, Narada thought, 'How can this simple householder be the biggest devotee of God?

On the other hand, Shrihari "'asked the farmer to fetch more food. He said," My stomach is not full yet. Will I get more food? "

The farmer went to the kitchen and asked the wife, "Is there any other food left?"

"Made kanji for children, that's all that's left."  Wife said.

Vishnu and Narada also drank that Kanji.  The farmer and his family had to sleep hungry.  Hungry children held the mother's hand and said, "Mother, I am not sleepy."  I am very hungry, why did the father also give kanji to those guests? "

"Offering food to the guest is like offering food to Lord Vishnu himself, son!"  The father said while turning his hand on the child's head.

In the hallway outside, both the guests were lying on separate beds.  Lord Vishnu said, "Narada You heard !  The farmer and his family did not get food, yet he is singing my glories. "

"This is nothing."  I have remembered you after being hungry for many days. "  Narada said.

They saw it the next morning.  The farmer was saying in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu, "Govind Hari-Hari.  You always stay in my heart, just, I don't want anything else. "  Then he said to both the guests, "Hari has a great grace.  He is the keeper of the world.  Is there any trouble at night due to the mercy of God?  Both of you stay here for as long as you want.  I'm going to the farm. "

"We will also go with you, if you do not mind."  Shri Hari said.

Narada and lord Vishnu went with farmer to his farm.  The farmer said, "This is my farm.  Now I will do my work… Govind Hari-Hari. ”

"You are a true man.  You are a great devotee of God, you keep taking his name every moment. "  Narada said.

"Oh no?"  Whenever I get a little time from work, then I remember his name. ”  The farmer said.

"When will you get time?"  Narada asked.

“I wake up in the morning.  I sleep at night then and during the day whenever I get time from work. "  The farmer told.

"Ah I see."  Got out of Narada's mouth.

When both of them walked away from the farmer, Narada said in a sarcastic voice, " God you heard .  He remembers you two or four times a day in the morning while I always meditate on you.  Still you call him a great devotee. "

Srihari remained silent, but in his heart he said, 'You will know the reason too, Narada.'

Vishnu filled a vase filled with oil to Narada and said, "Narada!  Put it on your head and bring it to the front hill without putting your hand.  Remember, not a single drop of oil kept in this Kalash(vase) should fall on the ground. ”

"This task is not easy, however, if you are pleased, nothing is impossible."  Narada said and placed the urn on the head.

'Oops!  If a little attention is paid then the oil will spill out. ”Thinking Narada walked towards the hill, raising the urn on his head.

Narada went up to the hill and returned.  Vishnu said, "Narada has returned!  Okay, now tell me how many times have you remembered me in going so far and coming? "

"Not even once, Lord."  Narada said, "How do I do?  All my attention was towards oil and urn. "

"Think of yourself then."  Srihari said, “That farmer works hard all day.  Still, he remember me two or four times, and you could not remember me even once. "

Narada's knowledge eye opened.  Falling at Srihari's feet, he said, "O Lord!  Those who remember you even while living in the mess of the world are the biggest devotees. "

Importance of conch (Sankh)

Importance of conch (Sankh)

 =========

According to Hindu belief, no puja, havan, yagna etc. is considered complete without the use of conch shells. According to religious scriptures, by blowing conch shells, ghosts, ignorance, disease, mistreatment, sin, downtrodden thoughts and poverty are destroyed. The tradition of playing conch has been going on since ancient times. In the Mahabharata period, Shri Panchajanya conch was played many times by Shri Krishna. According to modern science, by playing conch shell exercise our lungs, we get power to fight respiratory diseases. At the time of worship, the water kept in the conch is sprinkled all over it, which has the wonderful power to destroy germs in the conch water. Also, drinking water kept in conch shell is very beneficial for health and our bones, teeth. The shell has the properties of calcium, phosphorus and sulfur which get into the water kept in it.

And remember one special thing always, do not offer conch (Sankh) water on Lord Shiva!

Why do not offer water to Shiva by conch( sankh) ?

According to Shiva Purana, there was a Mahaprakrami monster named Shankhchud. Shankhchud was the son of Daityaraj Dambha. When no child was born to the Daityaraja Dambha for a long time, he did intense penance for Vishnu and appeared pleased with austerity. Vishnu asked to ask for a boon , then Dambha asked for a mahaparakrami invincible boon son's for all the three places and Vishnu were disappeared by speaking thaastu.

Then Shankhchud was born in Dambha and he pleased Brahma at Pushkar by doing severe penance.  Brahma asked for the boon and Shankhchud asked for the boon to become invincible to the gods.  Brahma speaks thaastu and gave him Sri Krishna's armor, then he disappeared.  While going, Brahma ordered Shankhchud to marry Tulsi, the daughter of Dharmadhvaja.  Tulsi and Shankhchud got married after getting Brahma's orders.

Daityaraja Shankhchud established ownership over the three worlds under the head of Brahma and Vishnu's boon .  The gods were distressed and sought help from Vishnu, but they themselves had granted the gift of such a son to Dambha, so they prayed to Shiva.  Then Shiva decided to end the sufferings of the gods and they left.

But due to Shri Krishna Kavach (armor's) and Tulsi's integrity, Shivji was not able to kill him, then after taking Brahmin form from Vishnu, received in donation his Sri Krishna armor from Daityaraja and then the took form of Shankhchud and kidnapped Tulsi's modesty.

Now Shiva consumed Shankhchud with his trident and Shankh was born from his bones. Since Shankhchud was a devotee of Vishnu, Lakshmi-Vishnu is very fond of conch water and there is a law to offer conch water to all the gods. But since Shiva killed him, the water of the Conch (Sankh) is said to be prohibited to Shiva. That is why Shiva is not offered water from the conch (Sankh) .

Scientific importance of visiting the temple

Scientific importance of visiting the temple-

According to the Vedic system, the temple should be built from where the magnetic waves of the earth become dense.

 - In these temples, the idol of the deity is installed at such a place in the sanctum sanctorum.

 - Copper leaves are kept under this idol which absorb these waves.

In this way, the person who goes to the temple every day and performs pradakshina in the direction of walking the clockwise of this idol absorbs this energy.

 - It is a slow process and regular development of positive power of the person.

 - The temple remains closed from three sides, which increases the effect of energy.

- The lamp ignited in front of the idol distributes the energy of heat.

 - From Ghantanad(bell sounds) , the mantra is made by the sound which concentrates.

 - By chanting in group, personal problems are forgotten.

 - Stress is relieved by the fragrance of flowers, carpur and dhoop , and mental peace is attained.

 - The pilgrimage water is treated with a mantra. It touches the copper plate located in the place of density of magnetic energy and this Tulsi camphor is mixed. In this way it becomes a divine medicine.

 - Vayumudra is made while taking the pilgrimage. The giver also chants the mantra, then after drinking, the hands touch the Shikha i.e. Sahastrar, eyes.

 - When going to the temple, the tradition of wearing clothes i.e. only silk started from this because they help in the absorption of that energy.

 - Women should wear jewelry while going to the temple. These ornaments made of metal absorb energy and deliver it to the place and chakra like neck, wrist, head etc.

 - It is the custom to use new ornaments and objects also by touching the feet of the temple idol, which can now understand why.

 - The urn of the temple is of pyramidal shape, which absorbs cosmic energy waves and benefits those sitting below it.

 - It is not necessary for every ordinary person to understand the higher scientific reason, so all our customs are followed as the order of religion and elders.

Prabodhini Ekadashi

Prabodhini Ekadashi

Lord Shri Krishna said: O Arjuna! I narrate the conversation between Narada and Brahmaji regarding the 'Prabodhini Ekadashi' of Shuklapaksha of Kartik month, which liberates you.

Once Naradji asked Brahmaji: 'O father! What is the result of 'Prabodhini Ekadashi' fast, please kindly tell me all this in detail. '
Brahma said: O son! The thing which is difficult to meet in Trilok, that thing also meets the 'Prabodhini Ekadashi' fast of Shuklapaksha of Kartik month. Due to the effect of this fast, many bad deeds done before birth are destroyed in a moment. Hey son A person who reverently does a little virtue on this day, his immortality becomes as stable as a mountain. His father goes to Vishnuloka. Great sins such as brahmahatya are also destroyed by awakening at night on Prabodhini Ekadashi.

Hey Narada! A man must observe this Ekadashi fast of Kartik month to please God. A person who observes this Ekadashi fast is wealthier, yogi, ascetic and winner of the senses, because Ekadashi is very dear to Lord Vishnu.
On this day of Ekadashi, human beings who donate, meditate on the attainment of God, tapa, home, yajna (Goddess jaap is also the ultimate sacrifice. 'Yajnam japayyagyanosmi'. In yajna, chanting is my form. '- Srimad Bhagavadgita), etc., they get unseen virtue.
Therefore, O Narada! You should also worship Lord Vishnu in a systematic way. On this Ekadashi, a person should get up in Brahmamuhurta and take a pledge of fast and worship. The night should be spent near the Lord performing songs, dances, stories and kirtans.

On the day of Prabodhini Ekadashi, one should worship God with flowers, naivaidhya, incense, etc., and offer prayers to God. Its results is many times more than that of pilgrimage and charity etc.
Those who worship Lord Vishnu with flowers of rose, flowers of Bakul and Ashoka, flowers of white and red Kaner, from Durvadal, from Shamipatra, from Champakpushp, they are missed by the cycle of movement. In this way, after worshiping the Lord in the night, after bathing in the morning and praying to the Lord, one should worship the Guru and leave his fast by giving Dakshina to the virtuous and holy Brahmins.

Those who renounce any thing in the Chaturmasya fast, should reclaim it from this day. Those who do a systematic fast on the day of Prabodhini Ekadashi, get eternal happiness and finally go to heaven.

The story of Bankebihari's temple in Vrindavan

The story of Bankebihari's temple in Vrindavan

There is a black colored statue of Bihari in the Bankebihari Ji temple in Vrindavan.  There is a belief about this statue that this statue contains Sakshat Shrikrishna and Radhaji, so the mere results of their visit brings the results of Radha-Krishna's visitations. The legend and the leela of the appearance of this statue is very interesting and amazing, so every year on the fifth date of Margashirsha month, Bankebihari manifesto is celebrated in the Bankebihari temple.Legend of the appearance of Bankebihari ji, is related to Swami Haridas ji who is Guru of Tansen. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Shri Krishna.

Sitting in Nidhivan, the seat of near the Shri Krishna, located in Vrindavan, they used to get  wooed by his music for Shreekrishna. Haridas ji, immersed in devotion to the Lord, used to get absorbed in the Lord whenever he sang songs. Lord Shri Krishna came in front of them with his devotion and singing. Haridas ji became enchanted and began to caress Shri Krishna. One day one of his disciples said that you alone get the benefit of Shri Krishna's visit, let us also have a vision of Shyaam sundar . After this Haridas ji sank in devotion to Shri Krishna and started singing hymns.

The couple of Radha-Krishna appeared and suddenly there was a change in the tone of Haridas and

Song started

bhaee ree sahaj joree prakat bhee, jurang kee gaur syaam ghan daaminee jaise.pratham hai hutee ab hoon aage hoon rahi hai na tari hai taise.ang-ang kee ujakaee sugharaee chaturaee sundarata aise.shree haridaas ke svaamee shyaama punj bihaaree sam vaise vaise.

Shri Krishna and Radhaji desired to be near Haridas. Haridas Ji told Krishnaji that I am a saint, Lord. I will make you wear langaut(nappies) , but will bring Mother from ornaments regularly. Listening to the devotee, Shri Krishna smiled and the couple pair of Radha-Krishna appeared in unison as a Deity. Haridas ji named this Deity as 'Bankebihari'. This Deity is seen in the Banke Bihari temple. Both Radha and Krishna are included in the Deity of Banke Bihari, whoever sees this Deity of Shri Krishna, his wishes are fulfilled.

Guru Nanak Devji - brief life introduction

Guru Nanak Devji - brief life introduction

Guru Nanak Devji

 On 12 November 2019

Special on 550th Festival of Lights

 *****************************

He is the first Adi Guru of Sikhs.

His followers address him by the names Nanak, Nanak Dev Ji, Baba Nanak and Nankashah.

Nanak had the qualities of philosopher, yogi, householder, religious reformer, social reformer, poet, patriot and Vishwabandhu - all in his personality.

 Birth of Nanak

Kartik Purnima, Samvat 1527 or 15 April 1469 took place in a Khatrikul on Kartiki Purnima in the village situated on the banks of Ravi river in Talwandi, present Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Rai Bhoi.
Some scholars consider his date of birth as April 15, 1469.
But the prevailing date is Kartik Purnima, which falls in October-November, 15 days after Diwali.
His father's name was Mehta Kalu ji, mother's name was Trupta Devi. Talwandi's name later came to be named after Nanak. His sister's name was Nanaki.
From childhood, he started showing signs of sharp intelligence. He used to be indifferent to worldly subjects since childhood. They did not mind to read and write. The school missed school at the age of 7-8 years because the teacher gave up in front of his questions regarding Bhagwatprapati and he came to leave home with respect. Thereafter, he spent all his time in spiritual contemplation and satsang. Many miraculous incidents happened during childhood, which the people of the village started seeing them as divine personalities. His sister Nanki and the village ruler Rai Bular were the chief among those who revered him since childhood.

Their marriage

At the age of sixteen in Balapan, the daughter of Moola, who lived in a place called Lakhouki under Gurdaspur district, was married to Sulakhani. At the age of 32, his first son Srichand was born. Four years later, the second son Lakhmidas was born. After the birth of both the boys, in 1507, Nanak left the burden of his family on his father - in - law and with Mardana, Lahna, Bala and Ramdas start pi traveling for pilgrimage with these four companions.
He turned around and started teaching.
By 1521, he completed four travel cycles, touring the main places of India, Afghanistan, Persia and Arabia. These yatras are called "gloom" in Punjabi.
 Nanak was an altruist.
He gave a different path to the worship of a divine being to humanity, contrary to the style of idolatry of Sanatan Mat. He always opposed the evils spread in Hinduism. His philosophy was like Sufiyon. He has also looked at the political, religious and social conditions of the time. In saint literature, Nanak is in the category of saints who have given nobility to women.

The essence of his sermon was that God is one and his worship is for both Hindu Muslims. The idol worshiper called the polytheism unnecessary. Both Hindus and Muslims had their influence.
In the last days of his life, his fame increased greatly and his thoughts also changed. He himself started living with his family and spent time in the service of humanity.
He established a city called Kartarpur, which is now in Pakistan and built a large Dharamshala in it. It was at this place that Ashwana Krishna died on 10, Samvat 1597 (22 September 1539 AD).
 Before death
He proclaimed his disciple brother Lahna as his successor who later became known as Guru Angad Dev.
Nanak was also a good Sufi poet.
His emotional and tender heart, combined with nature, is unique. His language was "Bahta Neer", in which Persian, Multani, Punjabi, Sindhi, Khadi Boli(Pure language), Aabic words were included.

From Guru Nanak's life

 Some connected miracles

 ****************************

 Guru Nanak Dev
When he embarked on his first journey to propagate the knowledge of the divine, he traveled a long way from Sultanpur Lodhi to Saidpur city. There was a market here in which a carpenter prepared and sold items from wood.
He was a very good-natured and caring person. His name was Lalo.
He requested Nanak to visit his house as well. Nanak Dev saw her reverence and accepted the invitation. Guruji and brother Mardana went to Lalo's house.

 Lalo

 Was a hard-working man.
He had a modest house, but what did Nanakji mean by these things! They had Come to see his love. Lalo served Gurudev and served it in an ordinary pot of millet made from his earnings.

Guruji and Bhai Mardana also enjoyed delicious dishes in this dry-dried meal. After the meal, Brother Mardana asked Gurudev, why did this food seem as dull as it looked, why did it taste as delicious in the intake?
Nanak Dev ordered, he is a true human being. There is love in its heart. It earns hard work. It does not kill anyone's rights and it has served us food for the same income.
 In the same city
The very rich vassal Malik Bhago hosted the banquet. For this he performed a huge yajna and sent invitations to all the saints and fetters of the city. An invitation came to Nanak Dev too but he did not wish to go to the banquet.
Wheat, rice, pulses and all other things were forcibly collected from poor farmers for this feast. People could not refuse because Malik Bhago had a big name. Who would trouble him by refusing him?

But Nanak Dev did not care for him. The biggest name for him was not of Malik Bhago but of his Lord. Finally, after a lot of Bhago's efforts, Nanak went there.
There Malik Bhago asked Guruji, why didn't you come here to the banquet? Why are Lalo's house chewing dried pieces?
Then Guruji said to Malik Bhago, you get me some pudding-whole. I just now tell the secret of it.
Halwa-puri was called for Guruji. At the same time, he also got a piece of dry bread from Lalo's house. Guruji took pudding in one hand and a dry piece in the other. He squeezed the two together. Then from the halwa-puris of Bhago, the torrent of blood and the dry bread of Lalo started flowing with milk. Thousands of people were surprised to see this scene.

Nanak Dev

They told the people present there, brothers, this is the earning of religion, from which the edge of milk has come out, and this is the earning of sin, which is blowing the edge of blood.
 Seeing this scene
Malik Bhago's eyes opened. He clung to Guruji's feet. He apologized for the crimes he had committed so far in his life and left a life of violence. Now he started spending his earnings in noble work.

Miracle done in Mecca

 ************************
 Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Made many trips to his place during his lifetime. Once Nanak Dev Ji reached Mecca City. He was accompanied by some Muslims. When he reached Mecca, the sun was setting. All the passengers were quite tired.
The famous place of worship of Muslims in Mecca is Kaaba. Guru ji slept on foot towards the Kaaba when tired during the night. Seeing his feet towards Kaaba, Jeon angrily said to Guruji, "Who are you Kafirs who have slept on foot in the house of God?"
On this, Nanak Dev ji said with great humility, I am tired of the whole day's journey here, I do not know where the house of God is, where you can hold our feet and go there, which is not the house of God.
Jeon got angry after hearing Guru Ji's words and dragged his feet to the other side. After this, when he saw the feet leaving, he also saw the Kaaba on the same side.
In this way, when he did the steps again on the other side, the Kaaba was seen moving around. Jion told this to Haji and the Muslims.

Hearing this miracle, a large number of people gathered there. On seeing this, all the people were stunned and fell at the feet of Guru Nanak. They all apologized to Nanak Dev ji. When he started preparing to walk from there, the Kaaba's peers pleaded with Guru Nanak Dev Ji and kept him as a standing sign.
When the Kaaba Chief Maulvi Imam Ruknadin came to know about this incident, he came to meet Gurudev and he started asking him spiritual questions. He started saying to Nanak Dev ji that I have come to know that you are not a Muslim. Asked what you have come here for. Gurudev said that I have come here to see you all.
On this, Rukandin started asking that Hindus are good that Muslims, on this Guru Ji said that there is nothing worse than birth and caste. Only those who are good are the masters of good conduct. Gurudev Ji said that the Prophet calls him who will convey the message of God to man. Rasool or Nabi had brought the message of God.

Guru Nanak Dev's visit to Omkareshwar

 *******************************
Gurunanakdevji came to Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh via Nashik city of Maharashtra. In Burhanpur they stayed on the banks of the Tapti River. From there he went to Omkareshwar and from Omkareshwar to Indore.
Mr. Mahipat has described his journey in Indore in his book 'Lilavati'. According to it, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the ocean of love, came to Indore during the second gloom (yatra). He planted a tamarind tree here. Gurdwara Imli Sahib is established here. Gurudev stopped the people from idol worship and told the importance of the word.

Says that When people wanted to touch his feet with respect, they were amazed. He only saw light. From here, Guru Nanak Devji went there to save the grieving masses of Betma. Shepherds used to live there. He respected Guruji very much, listened to his teachings. When people prayed about the sufferings of water in front of them, they said that at that place, say Dhanna Kartar, dig up the land with a spade. When people did this, a fresh spring of water spilled over there.
Today there is a very beautiful gurudwara.
