25 . Amalaki(Rangabhari) Ekadashi .

This Ekadashi is also known as Amalaki Ekadashi and Rangabhari Ekadashi.  Ekadashi fast has special significance in Hindu beliefs.  Ekadashi falls on both pakshas of month. The word amalaki represents Indian amla. According to mythology, it is believed that Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu reside in the Amla tree.

Thus, this tree is considered highly auspicious. People worship and praise the tree on the eve of Amalaki Ekadashi. Amalaki Ekadashi is very important in terms of health. The seasons change after Phalgun. There is a knock of warmth after the departure of winter. The effect of this change in the weather falls on our health. If seen, an attempt has been made to establish the importance of Amla through Amalaki Ekadashi. Amla is a good source of vitamins.  The use of Amla in many diseases is panacea. According to the name, the person worships Amla and Amla tree in this fast. By doing this, you get victory over enemies and sudden problems and the person is freed from all kinds of sin.  Amalaki means Amla. Amla is nectar fruit. This fruit and its tree has been considered very sacred, in Hindu scriptures, it is said to be superior and holy like Ganges. According to the Padma Purana, the Amalaki or Amla tree has been born with the blessings of Lord Vishnu, that is why this tree is very dear to the gods, that is why the tree is also called the tree of gods, that is why the worship of Amla tree's worshiped on many auspicious occasions is performed. According to the belief, observing the fast of Rangbhari Ekadashi eliminates all kinds of sins and gives a virtuous result. In the Hindu scriptures, bathing, donating and fasting on the day of Rangabhari Ekadashi has been reported to yield results equal to  donation thousands of cows. On this day Baba Vishwanath is specially decorated and this day is considered to be the beginning of Holi festival in Kashi. On this day, the 6-day color festival of Rangabari Gyaras festival begins in Kashi, the city of Lord Shiva, which is celebrated till Holi festival. On this day special worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is done with Lord Vishnu. Amalaki means Amla has a great place in the scriptures.  When Vishnu gave birth to Brahma for the creation of the world, he gave birth to the Amla tree. Amla is revered by Lord Vishnu as the Adi tree. In every part of it, the place of God is considered. On this day, Khatu Shyam's fair is seen in the Sikar of Rajasthan. On this day in Kashi, there is tremendous love with color and gulal everywhere.

Therefore, it is also known as Rangbharni Ekadashi.  Let us tell you that there is a story related to Mahadev and Mata Parvati behind the name of Amalaki as Rangbharani.  Apart from this, there is another story behind Amla i.e. Amalaki Ekadashi, let us know in detail….

*** There is a story about Rangbharni Ekadashi that when Bholenath first visits his beloved city of Kashi after his marriage to Gauri, this incident is celebrates the same day as Rangbharni Ekadashi in the arrival of mother Parvati.  It is said that on that day, the whole city was decorated with various colors to welcome Mother Parvati. Since then, this tradition continues even today.  Here, celebrating Ekadashi which falls before Holi is celebrated as Rangbharni Ekadashi. The entire Kashi is decorated with colors and gulals.  Baba Vishwanath has a special makeup. The vast preparations are made to welcome Mother Gauri and Shiva.

*** Another story is associated with Amalaki Ekadashi. According to this, there is a story of giving a vision of Khatushyam in Sikar of Rajasthan. It is believed that on this day Baba Shyam's head appeared in Shyam Kund for the first time.  Since then, a fair is organized in Khatu Dham on the occasion of this Ekadashi which falls before Holi.  Where the devotees worship Khatu Shyam and pray to them for the happiness and prosperity of their family.

*** The story should be heard after fasting on Amalaki Ekadashi.  Which is such that one day Maharaj Yudhishthira asked Lord Shri Krishna about the importance of Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Falgun. Then Lord Krishna says that this Ekadashi is called Amalaki Ekadashi.

The story is found once when Lord Vishnu revealed vow, a point resembling the moon was revealed on the earth. Amla plant was born from that.  At the same time Lord Vishnu originated Lord Brahma for the creation of creation. Also originated the gods, Gandharvas, Yakshas, demons and monsters. Then everyone went to the this plant.  Everyone was surprised to see him. Because before that he did not know about any such plant.  Then there was the an Akashwani said that O sages! this is the best in all plants. This is Amalak tree . Which is very dear to Lord Vishnu. Not only this, the memorization of amla gets the blessings of cow donation.  At the same time, to touch this give doubling results and eating this give thrice results in virtue.  Amla tree is said to be the destroyer of sins.  The story goes further that at its core Lord Vishnu, Brahma and Lord Bholenath reside.  Muni in branches, Gods in twigs, Vasu in leaves and Prajapati resides in fruits. Therefore, whoever worships this Amla plant or tree gets special blessings of Lord Vishnu. Everyone asked that Akashvaani, who are you Then came the voice that the knower of pasts and the doer of present and future, who is present everywhere in the invisible stage. I am the same Vishnu. Everyone bowed to Akashvani. Lord Vishnu was pleased and asked everyone to ask for a boon. On this, all the sages said that if you are happy, then give some remedy that will attain heaven and salvation. After this, Lord Vishnu said that whoever observes Amalaki Ekadashi fasting of Shukla Paksha Ekadashi in Falgun month will fulfill all his wishes.
*** In the Brahmanda Purana, the significance of 'Amalaki Ekadashi' of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month is described in Mandhata and Vasishta conversation . Once Mandhata ji prayed to Vashistha, O sage!  If you are happy with me, if you are pleased with me, then please show me a fast that I can get real welfare by following. In response to this, Vashist ji was pleased and said, O Rajan!  Let me tell you the story of a secret, mysterious and very welfare fast of the scriptures, which is going to give all kinds of welfare . O Rajan!  The name of this fast is Amalaki Ekadashi fast.  This fast is the destroyer of the biggest sins, the results of the virtue of donating a thousand cows and the salvation provider.
The people of Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra varna lived very happily in the ancient city of Vaidish.  The people there were naturally healthy and strong. O Rajan!  There was no any persons, sinner or atheist in that city.  In this city where there was a ritual of Vedic Karma.  This city used to resonate with the sound of Vedas.  Chandravanshi kings ruled in that city. In this Chandravanshi dynasty, a charitable and dignified king named Chitrarath was born.  This king was very powerful, brave, rich, fortunate and also a scholar.  The subjects had great happiness in this king's kingdom. The whole environment was favorable.  All the subjects here were Vishnu's devotee.  All people used to observe Ekadashi.  No impoverished or miser was seen in this state. Thus the king, along with the subjects, ruled happily for many years.
Once Falgun Shuklapakshi Dwadashi Samyukta Amalaki Ekadashi arrived.  Knowing that this Ekadashi is going to give greatest results, the boys, old, young, women and men of the city and the king himself also followed this Ekadashi fast with full rules. On Ekadashi,  early morning the king finished bathing in the river and went to the temple of Lord Vishnu on the banks of the same river with all the subjects.  He established the God there by furnishing divine scented water vase with umbrella, cloth, paduka etc. After this, by lighting incense and lamps, worshiped Lord Sriparashurama with Amalaki i.e. Amla and finally prayed O Parashuram!  O Renuka's soothing!  O Salvation Provider!  Greetings to you. O Amalaki!  O  Brahmaputri!  O dhaatri !  O Papanashini!  Namaskaram to you ! You accept my worship. In this way, the king along with the people of his subjects performed the night awakening while listening to the sacred character saga of Lord Shri Vishnu and Lord Sriparasuram ji by listening to the saga, hearing and reciting the glory of Ekadashi.
The same evening a hunter arrived there hunting.

He used to spend the day by killing creatures. After seeing the night awakening while performing Hari Kirtan, equipped with Deepmalaas and gathered by many people, the hunter started wondering what all this is happening? On seeing Ekadashi fast there, he saw the devotees .  He saw Lord Sridamodar ji sitting on the Kalash and sat there listening to the character of Lord Shrihari. Even after being hungry thirsty, he also awakened the night while listening to the story of importance of Ekadashi fasting and glorifying Lord Shrihari.  At dawn, the king went to his city with his subjects and the hunter also returned to his house and he ate food on time. After some time when that hunter died, with the effect of spontaneously observing Ekadashi fast and awakening the night on Ekadashi date, that hunter in his second birth named huge wealth, army, feudal, elephant, horse, chariots etc. He Born as a son of a king named Viduratha of the  Jayanti city. He became mighty like the sun, forgiving like the earth, devout, sincere and with many virtues, devotion to Lord Vishnu and began to ruled on one lac villages.  He was also a great donor.  In this birth, its name was Vasurath. Once he went to the forest to hunt and lost the way.  Tired of wandering in the forest, tired of thirst, sleeping in the forest with a pillow of his arms.  At the same time, Malechha Yavan, who lives in the mountains, came to the sleeping king and tried to kill the king. They were bent upon killing the king as an enemy. They had some such confusion that this is the same person who killed our parents, son and grandson etc. and that is why we are wandering in the forest.  But surprisingly, the weapons thrown by those people did not fall on the king . The king did not even scratch.  When their weapons were exhausted, they all got scared and could not move even one step.  Then everyone saw that at the same time a supreme beautiful goddess appeared with many jewels with divine smell from the body of the king. She was becoming angry eye with fierce fury .  Seeing this form of that goddess, all the yavana started running here and there, but that goddess killed all the malechchha  in a moment with a chakra in her hand. When the king woke up and saw this terrible massacre, he was surprised.  Also became fearful.  Seeing those fiercely shaped malachis dead, the king wondered with awe that who protected me to  by killing my enemies ?? Who is my kind friend here?  However, I thank him very much for his great work.  At the same time, Akashvani said that except God Keshav, who else is there to protect the refugees? Therefore, only the refugee guard, the refugee protector Shrihari, has protected you.  The king was pleased to hear that Akashvani, at the same time, being very grateful at the feet of Lord Srihari, returned to his kingdom, praising God and started ruling the kingdom without fear .

Vashisht ji says, "O Rajan! Those who follow this Amalaki Ekadashi fast surely attain Vishnuloka."

The power of Lord Shrihari defeats all our sufferings.  It is fully capable of protecting not only humans but also the gods.  With this power, Lord Vishnu killed the demons Madhu-kaitabha.  By becoming this power, Utpana Ekadashi killed the demon named Mur and made him happy by defeating the suffering of God.

26 . Kamika Ekadashi .

Sawan is the beloved month of Shiva and Ekadashi is the beloved date of Lord Vishnu.  Krishna Paksha Ekadashi, which falls in the month of Shravan, is called Kamika Ekadashi.  Kamika Ekadashi is considered to be the best vow of Lord Vishnu. The importance of this Ekadashi is further enhanced by coming in the month of Sawan.  Lord Shiva should be worshiped along with Lord Vishnu in this fast.  Worship the sun god in this fast.
Due to the effect of this fast, spoiled works are also formed. Man is freed from all sins and attains Vishnu Loka. Kamika Ekadashi is considered very important for spiritual seekers, as it destroys all negativity from consciousness and fills the mind and heart with divine light. Dashami, Ekadashi and Dwadashi follow the rules of Kamika Ekadashi. During these three days the people should not consume rice.  Take food at a time on Dashami and nothing should be eaten after sunset. Awakening on the night of Ekadashi. On the day of Dwadashi one should worship and donate. Do not cut plants & trees on Ekadashi.  No one should be condemned. Worshiping Lord Shri Hari in Shravan worships all the deities, Gandharvas etc.  Deepdan has special significance on the night of Kamika Ekadashi. Must offer butter mishri and tulsi leaves to God.  Chant the name of Vishnu Sahastra.  Use Tulsi leaves in fruit diet.  Offer yellow clothes to Lord Vishnu.  Provide food grains for birds.

Lets go to story of Kamika Ekadashi.

Once a Kshatriya lived in a village.  For some reason, one day he got upset with a Brahmin.  The quarrel grew so much that both came down on the melee, and then the Brahmin was killed at the hands of a Kshatriya by mistake. He did not want to kill him at all, but inadvertently committed this sin. To repent of his mistake, he urged the Brahmins to participate in the same last action. But everyone refused and said you have incurred the sin of killing a Brahmin, so if possible, repent and get rid of this sin, otherwise you will get hell.
Hearing this, the Kshatriya got scared and started asking him the solution of sin.

Then the Brahmins suggested her to observe the fast of Kamika Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month and said that by doing this fast you will get rid of sins and only then all Brahmins will be able to come to your house atonement. Hearing this, he obeyed Kamika Ekadashi in a devout manner and Vishnu was pleased with this fast and gave him darshan. He was very happy to see Shree Vishnu and he bowed him again and again.  Then Lord Vishnu freed him from the sin of killing Brahmahatya and gave place in the Baikuntha loka. Thus, whoever narrates this story, Narayana is pleased with it and saves him .

Ekadashi fasting is considered as one of the best fasts.  The Lord of Ekadashi Tithi is Vishwadeva and his worship fulfills desire.  All the deities get this worship by worshiping him.

22 . Shattila Ekadashi .

Magh month is considered very sacred in Hinduism.  In this month, man should keep his senses under control, abandon anger, ego, deeds, greed and backbite. The fasting method of Shattila Ekadashi is slightly different from other Ekadashi.

Shatatila Ekadashi is called Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of Magh month.  Like other Ekadashi, this Ekadashi also has special significance.  Since the entire Magh month is considered a holy month for worship, in such a situation, the importance of Shattila Ekadashi increases. It is believed that fasting on this Ekadashi leads to the attainment of imperishable virtue. Bathing, charity and fasting have a special purpose on Ekadashi.  It is believed that a person who fasts for 24 Ekadashis attains salvation.
Worshiping Lord Vishnu is obtained from black sesame on Shatila Ekadashi. In fact, in Magh month, Winter season is at its peak in this month and with the end of the month winter begins to slow down. The uses of sesame seeds increases a lot in this season because it is very beneficial in winter. That is why sesame has special importance in bathing, donation, tarpan, diet etc. On the use of sesame in 6 ways on this day, sins are eliminated and Baikuntha Dham is obtained.  According to its name, this fast is related with seasame. The importance of sesame is ubiquitous and in Hinduism til is considered very sacred.  In particular, they have special importance in worship. It is because of the 6 uses of seasame that it has been named Shatatila Ekadashi. Sesame has been given special importance in the Shattila Ekadashi fast. Sesame is used in baths, donations, food, tarpan and prasad. The first bathing with water mixed with sesame,  second massaging with sesame oil, the third doing havan with sesame oil, the fourth taking sesame with water,  the fifth donating the seasame and the sixth consuming things made from the seasame.  Due to the use of sesame, it is called Shattila Ekadashi. The Padma Purana states that all the devotees who fast on the day of Shattila Ekadashi, as well as worship with donations, tarpan and rituals, attain salvation and end all sins. By observing this fast, happiness and peace prevails in the house. Human beings not only get physical happiness, but also salvation after death. The worship performed on this day has special significance. By fasting on Shatila Ekadashi humans attains good health & age increases.  Eye disorders are overcome. Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi Mata are happy and bless the increase in wealth.
If women do this fast, they get unbroken good luck. Couple fasting with this couple makes happy married life. On this day, donating urn filled with sesame keeps your stores full. Those who want to observe Shatila Ekadashi fast. They should get up before sunrise in the morning and after regular action, apply paste of sesame on body and mix sesame in water and take bath. After this, offer Prasad of sesame to Lord Krishna and perform Havan only with sesame seeds. Donating sesame seeds during this Ekadashi fast is said to be best.  If you want to drink water, then drink water mixed with sesame seeds. For those who cannot fast, use sesame as much as possible.  Eat sesame, drink sesame mixed water. Take a bath by applying sesame seeds and also donate sesame seeds. If it is not possible to do so much, then only pronounce the Til (Seasame), then even the inauspicious effects of sinful deeds will decrease.
Karma on earth creates an account of our sin and virtue.  Shri Krishna said that no living being in the world can live without karma for a single moment. That is why, all of us, at some time or other, commit sins.  And to get rid of sin deeds, one has to do deeds as well. There are many such remedies in the scriptures which can get rid of the effects of sinful deeds. One such karma is the fast of Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Magha. This Ekadashi is known as Shatatila Ekadashi. According to its name, it is considered best to use sesame in six ways in this Ekadashi. Women must listen to the story of Shatila Ekadashi fast. Women keep fast on Ekadashi. The whole family gets the benefit of fasting women. Husbands and children also get the benefit of this fast and worship.

The story heard on this day is called Shattila Ekadashi Vrat Katha.  Hearing this story on this day brings many benefits.  In this story, Lord Vishnu and Narada are talking to each other.

Rishi Pulastya narrated this story to the sage Dalbhya.  According to sage Pulasya, Naradji once asked Lord Vishnu for public welfare.  After which Lord Vishnu told Narada about the importance of Shattila Ekadashi. Lord Vishnu said that in ancient times, a Brahmin  lady lived in the earth.

She always fasted, once she fasted for a month, due to which her body became extremely weak and feeble.  Despite being intelligent, she never donated food or wealth to the gods or Brahmins.
With this I thought that Brahmani has pure her body by fasting, now it will get Vishnulok but she never donated food, it is difficult to  get satisfy her.
Continuing the further story, Lord Vishnu said to Naradji that thinking like this, I took as a form a beggar and went to that Brahmini in the earth and asked for alms. She asked God how they came.  In the guise of a beggar, God said that give me something, I want begging.  On this, the Brahmin put a piece of clay kept in my alms.  With whom I returned to Baikuntha. After some time, Brahmani died.  The Brahmini got a beautiful palace in heaven by donating clay, but she found his house void in food and other things.
Fearing, she came to me and said that God ! I worshiped you by many fasts, but still my house is absence all things.  What is the reason for this?
On this I said- First you go to your home. Divine ladis will come to see you.  First listen to the virtue and method of Shatila Ekadashi from them, then open the door. Hearing my words, she went to her house.  When the divine ladies came and asked to open the door, the brahmini said - If you all have come to see me, then tell me the greatness of Shatila Ekadashi.
One of them started saying that I say, when the Brahmini heard the greatness of Shattila Ekadashi, then the door opened.  Divine ladies saw her that neither she is Gandharvi nor devilish but she is as human as before. According to his statement, that Brahmini fasted for Shatila Ekadashi . With this effect, she became beautiful and divine and her house became full of all materials. Therefore, humans should abandon foolishness and fast on Shatila Ekadashi and donate seasame etc. instead of greed.  This leads to salvation by removing misfortune, poverty and many kinds of suffering.

Now read another story, it is a folk tale: -

It is a very old time that once a poor Ahir lived in Varanasi city.  Unhappy with poverty and humility, the poor, sometimes hungry, used to count stars in the sky with his children. He used to cut wood from the Ganges every day and this was the only support for his life.  By selling wood, the poor man used to arrange bread on two times. On the day his wood could not sell, he had to sleep hungry. Once upon a time he set out to deliver wood to a moneylender's house. Going there, he sees that preparations are going on for some celebration.
Curiously, he came near the moneylender to find out and asked him, "Seth ji, what festival is this preparing for?"
Knowing this, the moneylender said, “This Shattila Ekadashi Vrat is being prepared.  This fast gets rid of diseases, sins, murders etc., and brings wealth and a son. ”
Hearing all this, he took the price of his wood from the poor moneylender and came to his house and
he bought the essential things for Shatila fast by the same day's money. He fasted the Shattila Ekadashi Vrat throughout the day.  The result of his observing this fast was that he got away from poverty and was honored after receiving wealth. Fasting on Shatila Ekadashi will strengthen the fortunes of humans. Trouble and poverty are overcome. By fasting in a proper way, the attainment of heaven is attained.
The importance of Shatila Ekadashi is to understand the benefits associated with making divine blessings and donations to people and providing food to the needy and poor.

Therefore, the most important part of this is feeding the poor and worshiping Lord Vishnu as doing so blesses the devotees and brings abundant wealth and happiness. While doing this fast, we get physical purity and health, while donating food, sesame etc. increases wealth. This also proves that whatever humans donates, after renouncing his body, they gets the same results, so along with religious acts, we must donate.  It is described in the scriptures that no religious work is done without donating.

23 . Jaya Ekadashi .

Even the doors of heaven open for him.  The popular stories of Jaya Ekadashi describe the glory of the fast observed on this day. Like other Ekadashis, this Ekadashi is not only dedicated to Lord Vishnu, but Lord Shiva is also worshiped on this day. Jaya Ekadashi's arrival in the month of Magh increases its importance even more .

This Ekadashi is related to the story of the Gandharva Malvan and Apsara Pushpavati. Traditionally, devotees have to eat without eating anything throughout the day to observe this fast. Apart from this, performing formal puja is more beneficial. This Ekadashi day is considered suitable for those people. Those who have committed some sins in their life and want to seek forgiveness of those sins. By fasting on this day, one can get rid of past karmic defects and attain salvation after death. Hence Jaya Ekadashi is considered special.

The story of this Ekadashi, which is done to fulfill all the wishes, is described in many ancient legends including 'Padmapuran'.

Jaya Ekadashi fasting story

According to the legend mentioned in the Padma Purana, Devraj Indra ruled in heaven and all other gods lived happily in heaven.  Once upon a time, Indra was travelling in the Nandan forest with his apsaras as per his wish and Gandharva was singing. Among those Gandharvas, the famous Pushpadanta and his daughter Pushpavati and Chitrasen and his wife Malini were also present. Also, Malini's son Pushpavan and his son Mallyavan were also present. Gandharva's girl Pushpavati was fascinated by seeing the Malywan and started wooing Malywan. She subdued Malywan with her form and gesture. That Pushpavati was very beautiful.  Now they started singing to please Indra, but due to their mutual fascination, their mind was confused.
Indra understood this love due to they not singing properly and the rhythm was not correct and he cursed them as his insult in it.  Indra said, "O fools! You have disobeyed my orders, therefore you are a curse. Now both of you, as man and woman, go to the earth and take  vampires form and suffer the results of your karma."
Hearing such a curse of Indra, they became very sad and started living there life in grief on the Himalayan mountain. They had no knowledge of smell, life conditions and touch etc. They were getting great sorrow there. They did not sleep even for a moment. It was very cold at that place. One day the vampire told own wife, "What were the sins that we had committed in the past life, from which we got this painful vampire births. It is better to suffer hell's grief from this vampire form. Therefore, we should not commit any kind of sin now. ”Thinking this way, they were spending owns days. Coincidentally, there was an Ekadashi called Jaya of Shukla Paksha in Magh month. On that day, they did not eat anything nor did any sinful act. Spent the day eating only fruits and water, and sat down under the Peepal tree in the evening with great grief.  At that time, the Sun God was setting.
It was extremely cold that night, due to which both of them were very sad due to the cold and clung to each other like dead.  they did not even sleep that night. Jaya Ekadashi's fast and night awakening they left own vampire form on the second morning. Wearing the body of  very beautifuls clothes and jewellery , embellished with beautiful forms, they departed for heaven. At that time, the gods in the sky started doing floral worship praising them. After going to heaven, they both bowed down to Devraj Indra.

Indra was very surprised to see them at first and started asking, "How can you get rid of your vampire form, so tell everyone." Malywan said, "O Devendra! Due to the grace of Lord Vishnu and the effect of fasting of Jaya Ekadashi our vampire body has been disabled ." Then Indra said, "O Malyavan! By observing the grace of God and fasting on Ekadashi, not only your vampire body has been left, but you have also become worshipable because devotees of Vishnu and Shiva are worshipers of us, so you are blessed. Now you go with Pushpavati and enjoy your life . "

Music is a supernatural boon of Goddess Saraswati, it is a practice, a learning.  Purity is essential in this.  Then, in the meeting where the elders, respected person,Gurus are present more than themselves, the creature should maintain restraint and dignity, so that the respect of the gurus,it may be is not insulted. If any person insulting the gurus ,they are be part of hell. It is considered a sin to have the spirit of bad thought during worship and havan.  Many times it happens suddenly because of forgetting.  Jaya Ekadashi gives relief from this sin.

24 . Vijaya Ekadashi .

It has been said in our scriptures that when a problem is not solved, then a person should come under the shelter of God.  But as the times are changing, people's thinking is also changing, every person has become so busy with himself that he remembers God according to his will.  Every person today has become selfish and wants to join God as well as he wishes. But it should neither be done nor thought of.  Every person has to bear the results of own actions. That is why when a person gets very upset then he comes under the shelter of God.  But God is associated with us without selfishness, they are with us in both our good or bad deeds but we suffer as we do.

Let us tell you about the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Falgun month, by observing this fast, the solution to the biggest problem of your life comes, this fast was done by Lord Rama to get his Sita.

The date of this fast in the Hindu calendar is described as Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month.  According to the Puranas, Vijaya Ekadashi is considered to be one of the most important dates of worship of Lord Vishnu.  Vijaya Ekadashi is also related to Lord Rama, the incarnation of Vishnuji. Vijaya Ekadashi, as the name itself describe , observing Vijaya Ekadashi leads one to victory in his aims. In the literal sense the word 'Vijaya' signifies victory.  Fasting of Vijaya Ekadashi and this fast brings success and victory to the observer in difficult situations and circumstances of his life. It helps in providing relief from all kinds of obstacles and difficult situations.

If people donate and do virtious work on this day, they get rid of their past and present sins and also earn fruitful results. On the day of Vijaya Ekadashi, the worship of Lord Vishnu by the rules is defeated by the enemies. Your enemies are not able to succeed in their plans, you win over them. If you want to achieve success in your life, or to make a particular task a success, then you should do Vijaya Ekadashi fast. It is believed that Lord Rama also observed this Ekadashi fast before conquering Lanka.  For this reason, Lord Rama is also worshiped during this fast.

One day Arjun asked Lord Krishna that what is the significance of fasting of Vijaya Ekadashi, I want to hear from you, so please tell me the story related to Vijaya Ekadashi.

In response Lord Krishna says - O Arjuna! the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month is known as Vijaya Ekadashi. With the effect of this fast, man gets victory . Whoever listen and read the greatness of this Vijaya Ekadashi, all his sins are soon eradicated.  O Arjun, I have not told the story of this fast till date.  Before today only Devarshi Narada ji has heard this story from Brahma ji.  O Arjun, seeing your curiosity about this story, today I tell this story -
O Arjun ! Brahmaji narrates the story to Narada ji and says - 'O son!  Vijaya Ekadashi is a fast to destroy the sins of the past and present.  This fast gives victory to all humans.  Now you devoutly listen to this story -
When Shri Ram got fourteen years of exile in Tretayug, he started living in Panchavati along with brother Lakshman and Mother Sita.  At that time, the great power and great sinner Ravana deceitfully kidnapped Mother Sita.  Sriramji and Lakshmanji were very sad due to this incident and started wandering forest to forest in search of Sitaji. While wandering in the forest, they reached near the dying Jatayu, when Jatayu told him about the kidnapping of Mother Sita and got liberation in the lap of Lord Shri Ram. After this Sri Rama befriended with Sugriva and killed Bali.
After this, Jamwant reminded Hanuman of his amazing powers, then Shri Rama devotee Hanumanji went to Lanka to find Mata Sita and narrated the description of friendship of Sri Rama and Maharaj Sugriva to Mata.  After coming from Lanka, Hanumanji told Sri Ramchandraji the whole story of Lanka city and Ashok Vatika.
Knowing all this, Shriram Ji with the permission of Sugriva left for Lanka with the Vaanar Sena.  On reaching the seashore, Shri Ram, seeing the eternal sea, said to Laxmanji - "O Laxman!  How will we cross this infinite sea with there are many crocodiles and creatures in the sea ? '  Hearing the talk of Prabhu Shriram, Laxmanji said-
Brother!  You are omniscient, nothing is hidden from you, yet half the yojna away from this place is the ashram of "Vakdalbhya Muni" in Kumari Island. Muni have knowledge of the Brahm and can tell you the solution to this problem.  Listening to the words of Lakshmana, Shriramji went to the ashram of Vakdalbhya Rishi and vow him and sat near him.

Maharishi Vakadalbhya saw Shri Ram coming to his ashram and asked - "O Lord Shri Ram!  For what purpose have you sanctified my hut, please say your purpose! '

On hearing the sage's reverential voice, Shriram said - "O  Mahatma!  I have come here with the army and I am going to Lanka with the desire to win the demon king Ravana.  Please tell me any way to cross the sea. That is my purpose for coming to you. '
In response, Maharishi Vakdalbhya Muni says - 'O Ram!  I tell you a fast that you will definitely get victory by doing it properly. ”Then Shri Ram Ji said, O Munishreshtha!  What is this fast that is achieved by conquering all the areas? Please do tell soon!  Again Maharishi Vakdalbhya Muni said- "O Shriram!  By fasting Vijaya Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month, you will surely cross the sea and you will also get victory in battle.
O Shri Ram!  If you do this fast with your generals, then you will definitely conquer the sea and Lanka.  Hearing the word of Muni, then Sri Ramachandra lawfully observed Vijaya Ekadashi and with its effect, killed Ravana and conquered Lanka and brought Mother Sita to Ayodhya.

O Arjun!  Whoever performs this fast with method, will surely get victory over enemies.  Not only this, anyone who listens or reads this fast gets the results equivalent to performing a yajna. ”

If you want to achieve success in your life, or to make a particular task successful, then you should do Vijaya Ekadashi fast. Worshiping Lord Vishnu in any form fulfills all human desires. Shriram, though an avatar of Vishnu himself, but he fast this Vijaya Ekadashi and worshiped Lord Vishnu  due to show human dignity to creatures and to take good path.  A person desirous of victory can participate in this fast and get infinite good results.

Apart from this, it is also mentioned that Lord Krishna preached the Gita to Arjuna on this day. The story goes that during the Mahabharata war in Dwapar Yuga, when Arjuna was afraid to shoot arrows at his relatives, Shri Krishna explained to him in detail about life, soul and duty.  Therefore, this day is also known as Geeta Jayanti. The Gita is a universal book.  It is not for any country, age, community or caste, but for the entire human race.  It is said by Sri Bhagavan himself to make Arjuna as a medium , hence the word 'Sri Krishna Uwach' has not come anywhere in this book, but 'Sri Bhagwanuwach' has been used.
Lord Krishna has preached not to any particular religion, but all of  humans beings.  The Gita teaches us the art of living, teaches us how to live life.  The mahaparva of Gita Jayanti is also celebrated because the continuous efforts to bring its benefits to human beings are continued.

Its story goes like this in  the Purana,

a king named Vaikhanas use to ruled the ancient city.  The Brahmins, who knew the four Vedas, lived in his kingdom. The king used to love the his subjects as own sons. One night, in a dream, the king saw his father suffering the torments of hell, the king was very distraught at this kind of dream. He started waiting for restlessness in the morning. As soon as morning, he called the Brahmins and told them about his dream- 'O Brahmins!  At night, I saw my father suffering the torments of hell. They have told me, O son!  I am suffering hell. Get rid of me here.  I have no rest since  when I heard his words.  Now I do not seem to have anything pleasing to the state, happiness, opulence, elephants, horses, money, women, sons etc.
Now what I do ? Where I go?  My body is warming because of this sorrow.  All of you tell me any kind of penance, charity, fast, etc., so that my father can get liberation. If I did not make efforts to free my father from the tortures of hell, then my life is meaningless. The person, whose father is suffering the torments of hell, has no right to enjoy happiness on this earth.  O Brahmin devas!  Please tell me a solution for this soon. '
Hearing the anguish of the internal sorrow of the king, the Brahmins discussed among themselves, then unanimously said - 'Rajan!  The knower of the present, past and future is a sage named Parvat. They are not far from here.  If you go and tell them your grief, he will definitely tell you some simple solution. According to Brahmins's words, The king went to Muni's ashram.  Many serene yogis and sages were doing austerities in the ashram. Muni Parvata , who knew the all four Vedas, seemed to be sitting like another Brahma.  The king bowed down to him and introduced himself.
The Parvata Muni asked the king for well-being, then the king said- 'O Muniver!  By your grace, all are well in my state, but a problem has arisen in front of me, due to which my heart is getting very disturbed. Then the king told  to the Muni the whole story of the dream he had seen in the night with a distressed heart and then said in a sad voice - 'O Maharishi!  Now please kindly guide me what should I do in such a situation?  How can I liberate my father from the torture of hell? '
Parvata Muni listened seriously to the king, then closed his eyes and started thinking about the past and future. After contemplating for a while, he said- 'Rajan! I have known of all your father's misdeeds through my penance force. He had discriminated between his wives in previous births.  He had not given own love to his second wife by coming in the consipiracy of his elder queen.  Your father has gone to hell with the results of that same sinful work.

Knowing this, Vaikhanas pleaded and said in a sorrow voice- 'O Munivar! Please show me some way to save my father, how will he be free from this sin? ' On this, Parvata muni said - 'O Rajan! The Ekadashi that falls on the shukla paksha  of Margashirsha month is called Mokshada Ekadashi.  It is supposed to provide salvation.  You observe this Moksada Ekadashi fasting and resolve the virtue of that fast and offer it to your father.  Your father will definitely be liberated from the virtuous effect of Ekadashi. '
On hearing the words of Parvat Muni, the king returned to his kingdom and along with his family, he performed a Moksada Ekadashi fast.  The king paid the virtue of this fast to his father.  The king's father was easily liberated by the influence of this virtue. While departing  to heaven, the king's father said- 'O son! be thy welfare' saying so much The king's father departed to heaven . All those who fast on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month, their sins are destroyed and in the end they attain heaven. There is no other fast that bestows salvation from this fast.  Hearing and reading this story brings endless results. By which all the wishes of the fasting person are fulfilled. Every human has a strong desire to attain salvation.  This fast of Mokshada Ekadashi is very important for those who desire salvation. According to Hindu texts, it is said that 100 Rajasuya Yajna and 1000 Ashwamedhi Yajna together cannot give as much benefit as can be observed by observing the fast of Safala Ekadashi. The day of Safala Ekadashi is described as a day on which fasting removes sorrows and destiny opens up.  Fasting of Safala Ekadashi fulfills all the wishes of a person. In the Padmapuran, there is a detailed discussion about the Krishna paksha's Ekadashi of the Pausha month and  also said about the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha's Pausha month that, if a person gets the same results after doing penance for thousands of years. which get by performing Safala Ekadashi. By performing this Ekadashi, sins of many generations are removed and the heart becomes pure.  If a devotee takes the pledge of Safala Ekadashi, he should follow the rules of devotion, awakening the night and fasting on the Nirjala.

The fast story of Safala Ekadashi is as follows-

Long ago, a king named Mahishman ruled in the city of Champawati.  He had four sons.  The eldest of those sons, his son named Lumpak was a great sinner and evil.  He always used to spend his father's money in bad peoples  and visiting prostitutes. It was his daily work to condemn the deities, Brahmins, Vaishnavites etc.  Subjects were also deeply saddened by his misdeeds, but being a prince, everyone was silently forced to bear his atrocities and no one had the courage to do so.
One day the king came to know about his misdeeds. Then the king became very angry and drove him out of his kingdom.  Lumpak was abandoned by everyone as soon as he was abandoned by his father, then he started thinking what should I do now?  Where to go??
Finally, he decides to steal the night in his father's city. He stayed out of the state during the day and went to his father's city at night and started committing theft and other bad deeds.  At night he would go and kill the residents of the city and torture them. In the forest he used to kill innocent animals and birds and devour them.  One night, even when he was caught stealing in the city, the guards would leave him for fear of the king.
It is said that sometimes even inadvertently the creature becomes the object of the grace of God. Something similar happened with Lumpak.  The forest in which he lived was very dear to God. There was a very old peepal tree in that forest and everyone considered that forest to be the playground of the gods. In such a peepal forest, under the same peepal tree, the sinner lumpak lived. A few days later, on the tenth day of Krishna Paksha of Paush month, Lumpak became unconscious due to cold.  He could not sleep at night due to the cold and his arms and legs ached. That night was a very difficult night, but even after the rise of Surya Narayana, he did not conscious. He remained as it was. Till noon of Safala Ekadashi, that misdemeanor remained unconscious.  When he got some heat from the heat of the sun, then  in the afternoon he feel to his senses and got up from his place in search of food in the forest. That day he was unable to kill the creatures, so he went under the peepal tree with the fallen fruits on the ground.  Till then the Sun God departed to sunset.

Even after being hungry, he could not eat those fruits because where he killed the living creatures and ate their flesh, and what the fruit. He did not like to eat fruit at all. So he put those fruits near the root of Peepal and sadly said - 'O God!  This fruit is offered to you. You are satisfied with these fruits', saying that he started crying and he could not sleep at night. He kept crying all night.  Thus Ekadashi fasted unknowingly from that sinner.  God was very pleased with this fast and night awakening of that great sinner and all his sins were destroyed. Just after dawn, a chariot came decorated with many beautiful things and stood in front of it.  At the same time, Akashvani said, 'O prince!  With the influence of Lord Narayana, all your sins have been destroyed, now you go to your father and get the kingdom. When Lumpak heard such a Akashvani, he was very happy and said - 'O God!  Hail to you! ”Saying this, he started wearing beautiful clothes and went to his father. When he told the whole story to his father, the father handed him his kingdom and went to the forest himself.  Now Lumpak started to rule according to scripture.  His wife, son etc. also became the ultimate devotee of Narayana. At the age of old, he went to the forest to offering his kingdom to the son and to worship of god, and finally received the supreme post. Those peoples observing Safala Ekadashi with full devotion and faith, these all sins are destroyed and finally get salvation .

Fasting of Safala Ekadashi according to its name will give favorable results.  Lord Krishna explains the great glory of this fast.  A person observing this Ekadashi fast gets the best results in life and after enjoying the happiness of life, he attains Vishnu Loka.  This fast is very auspicious and virtuous.  From this story we get evidence of God being very kind.  If a creature inadvertently remembers God, it gets its full results.  If beings earnestly ask forgiveness of their sins, then God forgives even their greatest crimes.  Great sinner like Lumpak too became the pocessor of Baikuntha by the grace of Lord Narayana.

21. Putrada Ekadashi .

According to the Hindu calendar, this Ekadashi, which falls on the Shukla Paksha of Pausha month every year, is known as Putrada Ekadashi.
The month of Paush is considered very holy, Amavasya and Purnima are also considered special in this month. Amavasya is considered to be auspicious for performing tarpana etc. for the peace of the ancestors, and  Purnima is called Mokshadayini.  But when it comes to worldly pleasures and life, then the happiness of children starts to appear paramount. This fast can be kept both in a nirjala and taking fruits manner.

Fasting story of Putrada Ekadashi:--

According to the legend, a king named Suketuman ruled in the city named Bhadravati.  He had no son.  His wife name was Shaivya.  She always used to be worried due to lack of sons . King's ancestor also used to take the pinda by crying, and thought who would give us the pinda after him. The king was not satisfied with any of these brothers, relatives , money, elephants, horses, states and ministers. He always used to think that who will give me pindapan after my death.  How can I repay the debt of ancestor and gods without children? There is always darkness in a house where there are no children. Therefore, one should try to generate children. Blessed is the man who has seen the face of the child.  He gets fame in this world and fame and peace get in heaven.  It is only by the deeds of previous birth that children, money etc. are obtained in this birth.
The king used to worry about it day and night.  At one time the king decided to give up his body, but he did not to do so because suicide is a great sin.
One day the king, thinking like this, mounted his horse and walked to the forest and started looking at birds and trees.  He saw that antelope, tiger, boar, lion, monkey, snake etc. are all traveling in the forest.  The elephant is moving between its children and elephants. Somewhere in this forest, jackals are speaking in their hoarse voice, somewhere owls are making noise .  Seeing the scenery of the forest, the king got thinking.  Similarly, half a day passed.  He started thinking that I had done many yajnas, satisfied the Brahmins with delicious food, yet I got sorrow, why?
The king became very sad due to thirst and started wandering in search of water.  At a distance, the king saw a lake.  Lotuses bloomed in that lake and storks, swans, crocodiles etc. were wandering .There were ashrams of sages around that lake.
At the same time, the king's right limbs began to vibrate.  The king considered auspicious sign  and got down from his horse and sat down with obeisance to the sages.  Seeing the king, the sages said- "O Rajan! We are very happy with you. Say what you want." The king asked- "Maharaj, who are you all, and why you all have come here. Please tell me please."  The sage started saying, "O Rajan! Today is Putrada Ekadashi fast which is gives children , we are Vishwadev and have come to bathe in this lake." Hearing this, the king said, "Maharaj, I do not have any children, if you are happy with me, then give me a boon."  Muni said- "O Rajan! Today is Putrada Ekadashi. You must observe this fast, by the grace of God you will definitely have children in your house." On hearing the words of Muni, the king fasted on Ekadashi that day and finished it to Dwadashi. After this, after worshiping the sages, they returned to the palace.

After some time, the queen conceived and after nine months they had a son. That prince became extremely brave, famous and preserver of subjects. It is believed that Putrada Ekadashi should be fasted for the attainment of children.  It is said that a person who reads or hears this greatness, finally gets heaven.

Ekadashis's Stories (PART :-07)

Ekadashis's Stories (PART :-07)

Hello friends .... I am again present with three stories of Ekadashi.I hope that you will like this article like the previous article and your knowledge will increase. My purpose is to give you information only.  Whenever all of you have a desire to observe Ekadashi, do this fast only after taking advice from a qualified scholar. If you like my article, do share it on social media.  A link to the previous article will also be found at the end of the article. Till then you earn knowledge from this article and wait for the next article. Just like Krishna Paksha Ekadashi, so is Shukla Paksha; There should be no distinction between them. Like white cow or black color, both of them have the same milk, in the same way, both paksha' s of Ekadashi have the same results. Therefore, religious people should consider both Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha Ekadashi alike. Do not discriminate among them. Only pure and sattvic thoughts should be given place in the heart. A person who reads or listens to the glory of Ekadashi fasting, gets rid of all sins and is revered in Baikuntha.

16 . Rama(Rambha) Ekadashi .

Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is known as Rama Ekadashi. This Ekadashi coming before Dhanteras and Diwali has religious significance. It is said in the Padma Purana that fasting on this day leads to salvation.

This Ekadashi is also called Rambha Ekadashi.  This is the last Ekadashi of Chaturmas. By observing this fast on this Ekadashi, sins are eliminated, women get the blessing of a happy married life. Lord Vishnu is worshiped as Lord Krishna in Rama Ekadashi. It is believed that by worshiping Shri Krishna on Rama Ekadashi through fasting's rule, one gets happiness and good fortune.  This fast gives men the blessings of a pleasant worldly and family life.  By observing this fast, not only human life is successful but salvation is attained after death. It is said that the person who performs this fast, all his sins are destroyed. The fortunes of fortunate women remain unbroken due to the impact of this fast. If anyone cannot fast, then read or listen to the fast story. The story of Rama Ekadashi fasting is very fruitful. Everyone who reads or listens to it has their wishes fulfilled.
Great sins like Brahmhatya are also destroyed by the effects of this Ekadashi.  If you have inadvertently committed any sin, then you can observe Rama Ekadashi fast to atone for that sin. The effect of this fast also gives freedom from extreme sins, it has been told in the Padmpuran.
The month of Kartik is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.  However Lord Vishnu is sleeping at this time and he wakes up after four months on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi. But all the festivals which come in Krishna Paksha are related to Goddess Lakshmi in some way or the other. On Diwali it is specially done till Lakshmi Pujan. Therefore, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi begins with her fasting on Kartik Krishna Ekadashi. Mata Lakshmi also has another name Rama, so this Ekadashi is also called Rama Ekadashi. According to mythological texts, when Yudhishthra asked Lord Krishna about Krishna Ekadashi of Kartik month, Krishna told him that this Ekadashi is called Rama Ekadashi.  By observing it, one gets happiness, prosperity and finally Baikuntha.

This story is mentioned in Sripadma Purana as follows-

In one city there was a majestic king named Muchukund. He had a daughter named Chandrabhaga. The king married his daughter with Shobhan, the son of King Chandrasen. Shobhan was a bit weak. He could not live without eating even for a time. Once Shobhan came to his in-laws with his wife in the month of Karthik. Then Rama Ekadashi arrived.  Everyone used to observe this fast in the home state of Chandrabhaga. Shobhan was also asked to keep this fast. But Shobhan became worried about the fact that he could not stay hungry for a single moment. Then how will he fast on Rama Ekadashi.
Taking this concern, he went to his wife and asked for some solutions.  On this Chandrabhaga said that if this is the case then you have to go out of the state.  Because there is no one in the state who does deny observe this fast.  Even animals do not take food. But Shobhan refused to accept this remedy and decided to fast.  The next day Sobhan also observed Ekadashi fast with everyone.  But he could not tolerate hunger and thirst and gave up his life. The king carried Sobhan's dead body into the river. Chandrabhaga wanted to be Sati.  But his father ordered that she should not do so and trust Lord Vishnu's grace.  Chandrabhaga did not become sati according to her father's order.  She started fasting on Ekadashi by staying at her father's house.
On the other hand, due to the influence of Rama Ekadashi, Sobhan was taken out of the water and by the grace of Lord Vishnu, he got a enemy free city named Devpur, full of wealth and property , on Mount Mandarachal.  He was made the king of there. There were gems and golden pillars in his palace.  King Sobhan was sitting on the throne of gold and jewels wearing beautiful clothes and jewelery. Gandharvas and Apsaras were dancing and praising her. At that time King Sobhan looked as if the second Indra seemed.  At the same time, a Brahmin named Somasharma, who lived in Muchukund Nagar, was out for pilgrimage.  While wandering, he reached the state of Sobhan, saw him. The Brahmin saw him as the king's son-in-law and went near him.
King Sobhan stood up from the seat looking at the Brahmin and started asking his father-in-law and wife Chandrabhaga's well being.  Listening to Sobhan, Somasharma said, O Rajan, our king is good and your wife Chandrabhaga is also good.
Now tell us your story.  You gave up your life because of not consuming food and water on the day of Rama Ekadashi.  I am amazed how such a bizarre and beautiful city that I have never heard or seen, how you got it.

Sobhan said on this, O Brahmindeva, this is the results of the fast of Rama Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month.  This is why I got this unique city but it is unstable. After listening to Sobhan, the Brahmin said, O Rajan, why is it unstable and how can it be stable?  If I could do anything to stabilize it, I would definitely take that remedy. King Sobhan said, O Brahmindeva, I had do this fast forcely and without respect.  Due to its influence, I got this unstable city, but if you tell this story to Chandrabhaga, daughter of King Muchukund, then she can make it stable.
After listening to King Sobhan, the Brahmin returned to his city and told the whole story to Chandrabhaga.  On this Rajakanya Chandrabhaga said, O Brahmin Dev, have you come to see all those scenes directly or are telling your dream.
Listening to Chandrabhaga, the Brahmin said, O Rajakanya, I have seen your husband Sobhan and his city directly, but that city is unstable. Take some such remedy so that it becomes stable.
Hearing the talk of a Brahmin, Chandrabhaga said, 'Brahmin Dev, take me to that city, I want to see my husband.  I will make that city stable with the effect of my fast.
Hearing the words of Chandrabhaga, the Brahmin took her to Vamdev's ashram near Mount Mandarachal.  On hearing his story, Vamdev anointed Chandrabhaga with mantras. Chandrabhaga went to her husband taking a divine body with the effect of mantras and fasting. Seeing his wife Chandrabhaga, Sobhan happily seated with her on the throne.
Chandrabhaga said, O Nath,  now listen to my virtue, when I was eight years old in my father's house, I have been observing the fast of Ekadashi.  With the effect of those fasts, your city will become stable and will be stable till the end of the Holocaust after being filled with all the deeds.  Chandrabhaga started living happily with her husband, wearing a divine form and adorned with divine clothes.

Lord Srihari is very kind and forgiving.  Even if someone is worshiping or fasting Ekadashi fasting devoutly or helplessly, he also give him the best bless, but a man should worship God with full devotion. Sobhan was able to stabilize his kingdom due to the Ekadashi fasting done by his wife.  Such a meritorious wife can be attained only by the grace of Lord Shrihari.

Fasting should be done by only taking fruits, once a while and more and more of your time should be spent in Lord Bhakti and Harinam Sankirtan. Vishnupriya Tulsi is more glorified in the scriptures, therefore, worshiping Tulsi during fasting and circumambulating Tulsi is very good.

God blesses the devotees who do so, so that all their wishes are fulfilled easily. Well, it is very important to have believe and faith in any fast, but God is always going to destroy the sins of his devotees, so if any devotee does any auspicious act unintentionally, then the Lord is pleased with him . The Lord definitely removes all the sufferings of the devotees who do devotion to the Lord with devotion and faith, because by virtue of devotion, believes and faith in the virtuous deeds done on this day, man will get the steady virtuous results.

According to Maharishi Katyayan, if a person who wants childrens, happiness, wealth and salvation, then he should recite Vishnu praise, Shaligram and Tulsi glory on the day of Hari Prabodhini Ekadashi and keep fast.

This Ekadashi, which falls on the day of Tulsi wedding in the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, is also called Vishnu Prabodhini Ekadashi, Dev-Prabodhini Ekadashi, Devotthan, Dev Uthav Ekadashi, Devuthani Ekadashi, Kartik Shukla Ekadashi and Prabodhini Ekadashi.  Also known as Dithavan Ekadashi.

Tulsi's worship is given special importance on Prabodhani Ekadashi. Some people also celebrate this day as Tulsi Vivah. People marry Tulsi to Shaligram on this day. Shaligram is considered to be the form of Lord Vishnu. Tulsi is married to Shaligram with complete legislation. The moment the God wake up.  At that time, the earliest first prayer is heard of Harivallabha Tulsi. Therefore, Tulsi marriage is considered to be a sacred auspicious time for the awakening of the gods. Tulsi marriage refers to the arrival of Lord Vishnu. Actually, Sri Hari is invoked through Tulsi.
Tulsi marriage is organized to make your life happy and attain ecstasy.  It is also believed that couples who do not have children should wedding ceromony of Tulsi once and do Kanyadaan. According to Puranic stories, Kartik month is the month of Deepdaan, so every day one should light a lamp in front of Mother Tulsi to spread the light of happiness in life.  Actually, Tulsi got the curse of being a tree form which also has different mythological stories.

Even though God does not sleep for a moment, but according to the spirit of devotees - God sleeps for four months. There are many legends with Prabodhani Ekadashi, or Dev Uthani Ekadashi.  All the Ekadashis have their own importance in mythological texts.  But some Ekadashi are particularly lucky.  Ekadashi of Kartik Shukla Paksha is also one of these special Ekadashis.  There are many fast stories about Devotthan Ekadashi, some of which are as follows ……

1**. According to mythology, Lord Vishnu's sleep was irregular. Sometimes he would stay awake for months and sometimes slept continuously for several months. Goddess Lakshmi was unhappy with this. Even Lord Shiva, Lord Brahma, Devas and ascetics had to wait long to see Lord Vishnu while Lord Vishnu was sleeping.  Even the demons used to take advantage of the sleep period of Lord Vishnu and persecuted humans and wrongdoing was spreading on the earth.

One day when Lord Vishnu awakened from sleep, he saw the gods and saints who were seeking his help. They told Lord Vishnu that the demon named Sankhyayana had stolen all the Vedas, leaving the people deprived of knowledge. Lord Vishnu promised to bring the Vedas back, after which he fought for several days with the demon Sankhyayana and brought back the Vedas. Lord Vishnu kept awake after this battle and vowed to keep his sleep for four months. The rule of Chaturmasya is very important from the point of view of Veda's study, penance and sacrifice. This is the best time to indulge in devotion to Lord Shrihari. Householders can also take full advantage of their devotion to Lord Vishnu in Chaturmasya.
2** . There is also a legend that once Goddess Lakshmi asks Lord Vishnu that Swami you either wake up day and night or you remain in yognidra for millions of years, by doing this, all the beings of the world during that time they face many troubles. Therefore, you are requested to take sleep every year from the rule.  This will also give me some time to rest.  Hearing Lakshmi ji, Narayan smiled and said- 'Devi!  You are right  In my wake all the gods and especially you suffer.  You don't get any holiday because of me. Therefore, according to your statement from today onwards I will sleep in the rainy season for 4 months every year. This my sleep will be the ultimate blessing for my devotees. During this period, all my devotees will serve me with the feeling of sleeping and happily organize the celebration of sleeping and uplifting in their home, I will reside with you. '
3* *. Once upon a time, there used to be a very virtuous king.  But they used to show religion very much. Many times they used to force themselves with their subjects. To cook food in any house on Ekadashi, it was forbidden to even sell grains in the shops. Once a person came to him for a job, the king placed a condition in front of him that he would have to eat whatever he gave to eat.
By the way, the king has what to say the people have to accept , then this man was in dire need of employment, so he agreed. Now the king  was also impressed with his work, so he also got a good meal.  Once upon a day on Ekadashi, it was prohibited from not consuming food in the entire state. Now that person worked hard, but he was also a devotee of Lord Vishnu, but fasting was not a matter of his power.  On the day of Ekadashi, when the king told him to eating fruits, but he asked for food. Now the king told him that what I am giving you will have to be accepted. You had appointed  here on this condition.
But he said, Maharaj, whatever you say, I do not tolerate hunger.  Then the king, seeing his work, gave him grains.  Now, as usual, he goes to the bank of river and cooks his food and invokes God and asks for taking bhog. God also appeared and became disappear by eating with him.  Fifteen days later Ekadashi fasting came.  This time he asked the king to give double the grains and said that God himself dines with me, so it falls short for both of us.
The king thought that his mental balance had been disturbed, almost threatening him, he said in a loud voice that God has never appeared near to me for so many years of fasting and doing the work of religion and they have eaten food with you. He said, Maharaj, I am not lying, if you are not sure, so see yourself.  Just like how the king gave him food again, but this time said that if what you are saying is not true, then be ready to bear th consequences.
The person went and cooked food and started calling God.  The king was also watching from behind the tree.  God no longer appeared.  The person felt compelled to resolve that if God did not take food, then I would jump in the river and give up my life here. God still did not appear.  As soon as he stepped towards the river to give up his life with determination, God appeared and started eating with him as usual. Seeing all these incident, the king understood that all this is the illusion of God. They were trying to convince me that only true religion done with true devotion is fruitful.  After this, the king too became engrossed in godly devotion with true devotion and attained eternal salvation.
4**. Another story is about a king.  This king was very pious and a true devotee of Shri Hari.  The subjects lived happily.  Once God created the idea to test him and disguised as a beautiful woman and sat on the road through which the king had to pass. Now while passing through there, when the king's eyes fell on that woman, he kept staring at her.  He asked the reason for her being on the road.  Narayan, who became a woman, said that she is destitute, she has no one left, then the king asked her to be his queen.

Now seeing the king trapped in his trap, she said that I will become your queen but you have to hand over the reins of your kingdom to my hands.  You have to eat what I say.  In the charm of the form, the king's eyes were closed and the neck was shaking. The king brought her to his palace.  The very next day was the fast of Ekadashi and the new queen ordered that Ekadashi should be the same as daily food use and eating.  In the palace, non-vegetarian food was prepared and presented to the king.
Now the king said that today is Ekadashi and on this day I am absorbed in devotion to Lord Shri Vishnu.  I take fruits only during fasting.  Now the queen reminded the king of his word.  The queen said that I can only let you do this on one condition. Now the king said that I will be able to tell you something only after taking advice from the elder queen. When the king told all this to the elder queen about his crisis, she said that if God wished, the son would get more, but if he corrupted his religion then there is no other place.
The queen began to cry that when the prince returned after hunting, the prince asked his mother the reason for crying.  She narrated the entire story to her son .  The boy agreed to sacrifice to protect his  father's religion. Now seeing the loyalty of the whole family regarding religion, Lord Shri Hari also came in his actual form and asked the king to ask for a boon. The king said, God, you has given everything, just save us. Then he handed over the reins of his kingdom to the son and left for Baikuntha with Lord Vishnu.

According to Hindu belief, all auspicious works are started with Devuthani Ekadashi.  That is, the auspicious work like marriage and worship is started.  It is believed that Lord Vishnu wakes up on the day of Devuthani.  After waking up, they are fed with basil first.  It is believed that on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi, listening to the fast story of Vishnu ji, it is very vertious. Tulsi marriage is also done on this day.  At the same time, fasting on this day is also considered auspicious.

18 . Utpanna Ekadashi .

We have heard many stories of Ekadashi fast, but how was this Ekadashi fast born?  On which day did Ekadashi begin?  What was the purpose behind this? There are many questions that will be answered in the story of Utpana Ekadashi.

Ekadashi is an important fast in Hindu tradition. Religious people keep fast on every Ekadashi. Some people keep the fast of important and big Ekadashi.  But the question is also why Ekadashi has so much importance and when did it start giving importance to it. The most important fast in fasting is of Ekadashi. The fasting of Ekadashi ends the unstability of mind.  Wealth and health are attained.  It is believed that this Ekadashi all of year of Ekadashi fast is started.  The fast of Utpana Ekadashi is a fast for the healthy life, getting childrens and salvation.

Very few people know that Ekadashi was a goddess, because a beautiful goddess was born from the body of Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi date at the time of Satyuga.  And this goddess saved the life of Lord Vishnu, which pleased Lord Vishnu gave  her a name Ekadashi. Ekadashi Mata was revealed to Krishna Ekadashi of Margashirsha month, due to which the name of this Ekadashi was named Utpana Ekadashi.  Ekadashi fasting started from this day.
Fasting of the Ekadashi is considered to be compulsory for all beings. It is considered appropriate to start the ritual of this fast from this date. Those who want to fast on Ekadashi should start the fast from the Utpanna Ekadashi. According to the rule of Ekadashi fasting, Ekadashi fast can never be started any time.  The fast of Ekadashi is started from Utpana Ekadashi.  It is believed that all Ekadashi starts from this Ekadashi.  Utpana Ekadashi falls in Hemant season. This Ekadashi is also called Krishna Ekadashi of Aghan or Margashirsha month's Ekadashi.
There was a demon named Mura in Satyuga. The monster Mur overcame Indra and the gods and drove them away from their place.  Then Indra and other gods go to Ksheer Sagar, Lord Vishnu.  Everyone, including the gods, begged Shri Vishnu to be free from the tyranny of the monster.  Hearing the words of Indra Dev, Lord Shri Vishnu said - Gods I will soon decimate your enemies.
When the demons saw Lord Shri Vishnu in the battle ground, they started attacking them with weapons .  All the weapons that Lord Shri Vishnu used to kill Mur, were destroyed by his power and started falling like flowers on it. Lord Shri Vishnu fought with that monster for thousands of years but could not win that monster. Finally Vishnu ji went to sleep in a long cave in Badriakashram with a desire to rest in peace. The monster also went to that cave, that today I will conquer all my enemies by killing Shri Vishnu. At that time a very beautiful girl was born in the cave and came in front of the monster and started fighting.  There was a long war between the two. That girl pushed him unconscious and on getting up, she beheaded that monster and that monster died.
At the same time, when the sleep of Vishnu was broken, who killed that monster, they started thinking like this.  The said girl told him that the monster was ready to kill you.  Then I originated from your body and killed it.  Vishnu wanted to know the girl, then the girl said that I am the power generated by your body. Vishnu was pleased and gave the girl's name Ekadashi and gave her the blessing that you will be able to bring the alienated beings to me in the world due to confusion and fascination.  Your creatures who worship you will be happy for life.  This is the fast of Ekadashi in the name of the girl. The importance of Utpana Ekadashi is unique among all the Ekadashis as it is considered to be the one born of Vishnuji's body. Hence its name is also called Utpana Ekadashi.

Ekadashi is the visible power of Lord Vishnu, the power that slaughtered the demon whom even God was unable to conquer, how can the demons of man's sins stand before that power?  The power, which defeats the sufferings of the Gods and gives them happiness, she eligible give to the beings- happiness, prosperity, peace and salvation are all easily attain. One name of Lord Krishna is Murari.  Actually, Krishna was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Dwapara Yuga.  In the Satyuga, he fought with a demon named Mur who attacked heaven and the gods. However, this demon was slaughtered by a girl named Ekadashi from his body.  Because of Mura being the enemy, he is called Murari i.e. enemy of Mura.
