Why do Lakshmi and Ganesha worship together on the occasion of Diwali ??

Why do Lakshmi and Ganesha worship together on the occasion of Diwali ??

Diwali is celebrated as an auspicious occasion for Lord Rama to return to Ayodhya, although Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are welcomed in every house on this auspicious day.  Worshiping the forms of Goddess Mahalakshmi is the most important part of Diwali. It is said that on the night of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi goes to each house and blesses everyone with great wealth.  The festival of Diwali is mainly the festival of the goddess of wealth Lakshmi, and the worship of Lord Ganesha, a symbol of auspiciousness. It is well known that Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, luxury and prosperity (both material and spiritual), while Lord Ganesha is known as the destroyer of obstacles, the protector of intelligence, art and science . We all have seen that it is always a tradition to worship Lord Ganesha with Lakshmi. Both are always worshiped simultaneously.  In such a situation, many people are eager to know why this is so?  What is the reason for worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together?  Today we are making this revelation in this article.  Let's know why this happens-
Since no celebration is considered complete without invoking Lord Ganesha, it is no exception.  Ganesha is considered the deterrent of all obstacles.  Therefore, he is worshiped first to get rid of all the obstacles that hinder our development.  Along with this, the forms of Goddess Mahalakshmi are worshiped. It is said that on the night of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi goes to each house and blesses everyone with wealth.  But the question is why Lakshmi and Ganesh are worshiped together.  There is an interesting story behind worshiping Lakshmi and Ganesh together on Diwali.
According to the religious scriptures, Goddess Lakshmi once fall in arrogance about her wealth and powers.  While in conversation with her husband, Lord Vishnu, she continued to praise herself, claiming that she is the only who one worthy of worship.  Because she bless all the worshipers with wealth and property. Thus on hearing non-stop self praise, Lord Vishnu decided to overcome her ego.  Very calmly, Lord Vishnu said that despite having all the qualities, a woman remains incomplete if she is not the mother of children.
Motherhood is the ultimate bliss a woman can experience and since Lakshmi ji did not have children, she cannot be considered complete.  Goddess Lakshmi was very disappointed to hear this . With a sadly heart, Goddess Lakshmi went to Goddess Parvati to ask for help. Since Parvati had two sons, she requested the goddess to allow her to adopt one of own sons to experience the joy of motherhood.  Parvati ji was not ready to give her son to Lakshmi . Although she was known that Lakshmi ji does not stay in one place for long time.  Therefore, she will not be able to take care of her son. But Lakshmi assures her that she will take care of her son in every possible way and that she will be blessed with all happiness.  Realizing Lakshmi's pain, Goddess Parvati let her adopt Ganesh as own son. Goddess Lakshmi became very happy and said that whoever worships Ganesha with me, I will give them all my siddhi and prosperity.  Therefore, since then those who worship Lakshmi for wealth should first worship Ganesh.  Those who worship Lakshmi without Ganesha do not receive the grace of Goddess in full, it is believed. Hence, Ganesha as well as Lakshmi are also worshiped on Diwali.  Also, it is also believed that getting wealth without intelligence will only lead to misuse of wealth.  Therefore, one must first acquire intelligence to spend money properly. In order to gain wisdom, Lord Ganesha is worshiped and prayed for good wisdom and after this, Shri Lakshmi ji should be worshiped in scriptural manner.

Another relevant question - why Lakshmi and Ganesh are worshiped, not Lord Rama?

Since time immemorial, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshiped on Diwali.  However, many devotees still have a relevant question in their mind and that is - why Lakshmi and Ganesh are worshiped on Diwali, not Lord Rama. This seems an obvious question as Diwali reminds Lord Rama returning to his kingdom Ayodhaya with mother Sita and brother Lakshmana  after own 14 year of exile.  During his exile, Lord Rama conquered the ten-headed demon Ravana. To explain this question, we have to refer to Hindu mythology.  According to popular belief, when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after his exile, he first worshiped Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.  Since then the tradition of worshiping Lakshmi and Ganesh started on Diwali. It evolved into a "Diwali Puja" to worship Lakshmi and Ganesh on the night of Diwali. If you look closely, you too will appreciate the concept of Lakshmi and Ganesh worship on Diwali.  Lord Rama himself was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu - the protector of the universe. His worship Lakshmi and Ganesha remind us that we should always remember God first on this earth.  Being the king of Ayodhya, he worshiped Lakshmi and Ganesh to pray for the goodness, happiness and prosperity of the masses. He believed that due to their blessings there would be all-round happiness in his kingdom.  People will be healthy, intelligent and wealthy and will move on the path of truth and righteousness.  As Lord Rama represents "Ram Rajya", he gives the message to follow his ideals and follow his tradition.

That is why by worshiping Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, we not only worship Lakshmi and Ganesh, but pay our true tribute to the King of Kings - Lord Rama.

By worshiping Lakshmi and Ganesha, we invoke wisdom, intelligence, health, wealth and prosperity in our lives.  Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of all wealth and prosperity.  Whereas Lord Ganesha is considered as the god of learning, intelligence and success and prosperity. He remind us that money is useful and blessing is only when someone has the wisdom and knowledge to use it.  It also reminds us that wealth is only a means of acquiring material things in this world. Ultimately spiritual wealth is needed to attain eternal happiness.  So, we should worship Lakshmi and Ganesh religiously on the night of Diwali and welcome their blessings in our lives.  We sincerely hope that our explanation will clear any confusion in your mind as to Diwali Puja,  and why Lakshmi and Ganesh are worshiped on Diwali and not Lord Rama.

Additionally we have seen that Lakshmi, Saraswati and Ganesh are depicted together.  People are also eager to know about the relationship in them.

When there is no Saraswati (knowledge, skill), Lakshmi (wealth, prosperity) also departs .  When Lakshmi is not there, the person starts working on skill and knowledge improvement to attract contemplation and Lakshmi. We have called this a deviation in our lives.  Even in this case, we should not be interrupted, because one goddess then comes another, and both are important in our lives.  In both cases, whether you have an abundance of Lakshmi or Saraswati, you can be arrogant if you lack knowledge and wisdom (Ganesha).
These go on in our lives, if we are not able to manage both Lakshmi and Saraswati to experience ecstasy and eternal happiness and achievement.  To keep the two together, intelligence and knowledge are required. Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom and intelligence .  With the presence of knowledge and intelligence, we pay equal respect to both Lakshmi and Saraswati.  Both Lakshmi and Saraswati are associated with knowledge and intelligence, and therefore they never go into the presence of knowledge and intelligence.  The message conveyed to the people through illustration, to maintain Lakshmi and Saraswati, requires knowledge and wisdom (Ganesha).

What caused controversy in Ganga and Saraswati

What caused controversy in Ganga and Saraswati.

In the scriptures and the Puranas, Saraswati has been called the goddess of knowledge.  This goddess of knowledge once did something that no one could even imagine.
Due to that one mistake, Goddess Saraswati got such a curse that she become river had to descend on the earth.  The result of this curse was that  maa Ganga also became a river and Goddess Lakshmi became the beloved Vrinda i.e. the basil plant.

The desire to write any specific information on Goddess Saraswati was arising in my mind for a long time.  So today I will tell you about a dispute between Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Ganga.  This story is found in some mythological texts.  According to the story, Lord Vishnu had three wives - Lakshmi, Ganga and Saraswati. The trio always use to tried to keep Narayan happy so that they could get his special love.  Goddess Lakshmi and Mother Saraswati became jealous once upon seeing Srihari's greater love for Goddess Ganga.  On this Lakshmi ji did not say anything, but Saraswati ji told lot of maledictory to Lord Vishnu for this bias.
Lakshmi maa tried to stop her, but due to anger she continued to reproach Narayan the same way.  She also called Goddess Ganga as a misogynist.  Fed up with this quarrel, Lord Vishnu went out of Vaikuntha for some time. Saraswati felt very sad to see Narayan going out like this, but she also understood the reason for this activity to Goddess Ganga.  In the same anger, she was ready to hit the Ganges.
Seeing this sin, Lakshmi could not stay away from this matter and she came in between them.  She tried to calm them down by explaining both.  Goddess Ganga calmed down due to this, but the anger of Saraswati increased further.
Thus, due to coming in the middle, she got angry and cursed Lakshmi to become a tree.  Goddess Lakshmi immediately turned into a basil plant due to the curse of Saraswati.  Seeing innocent Lakshmi being cursed in such a way, now Ganga was also angry.  She cursed Saraswati to become a river and flow on the earth.  Unhappy with this, Saraswati also cursed Ganga to become a river and carry the ash & bones of humans.
When Lord Vishnu came back, he came to know about the curse of Saraswati and Ganga.  At the same time, seeing Lakshmi transformed into a plant, he felt immense sorrow.  Due to the calm nature and well-being of Goddess Lakshmi, he thought it appropriate to keep her with her as his wife. Thinking that such a situation could come back, he decided to sacrifice Goddess Ganga and Goddess Saraswati.  When both came to know of this, they apologized to Lord Vishnu. Then Srihari said that the Ganges will descend on the earth to wash away the sins of humans.  At the same time, she will stay in his feet as partially, in the kamandal of the Shree Brahma and also in the jatas of Mahadev.  Saraswati will also flow with her on the earth and will also live with him as a partially. Only Goddess Lakshmi will live in Baikunth, becoming his wife completely.  Along with this, he also took the form of Shaligram and marry the Tulsi form of Goddess Lakshmi.  It is said that Ganga and Saraswati have been flowing on the earth as a river due to each other's curse since then. Goddess Saraswati's curse has ended, that is why she has returned to her abode and Goddess Ganga will also be completely disappeared by completing her curse by the end of Kali Yuga.  But even today, the confluence of Ganga and Saraswati can be seen in Prayag.
This story can be read in detail in Brahmavaivart Purana and Devi Bhagavata Purana.

Story of curses(PART-09)

Story of curses(PART-09)

Welcome friends .... I hope you all like the stories of the curse series. Taking forward the stories of the curse series, the next part is presented to you. Like the previous part, this part too will be liked by you. At the end of this ninth part, all of you will get a link to the eighth part. If you like, do share my article on social media.

62. Lord Shiva cursed to maa Parvati.

Lord Shiva was explaining about the Vedas to his wife Goddess Parvati in detail on Mount Kailash one day.  Explanations and discussions went on for many years.  One day Parvati lost her concentration. As a result, Lord Shiva became angry and in anger, he said, "Go to earth and take birth as a fisherman".  Goddess Parvati disappeared as soon as the words came out of Lord Shiva's mouth.  Later Lord Shiva said, Oh!  What did i do?  Lord Shiva shouted in despair that I could not live without my beloved wife.

Lord Shiva started to remain unhappy for days.  His devotee Nandi was unable to see his guru unhappily.  He thought, My Lord will be happy only when his love comes back to Mount Kailash.
Meanwhile, Goddess Parvati took the form of a baby girl on earth.  The head of the fisherman community saw the girl under the tree.  Took the girl home and brought her the name of Parvati as her daughter.  Years passed and soon Parvati became a beautiful young girl.  She used to help her father catch fish. On the other side of Mount Kailash, Lord Shiva was still distraught for his wife.  Nandi went to him and said, "O Lord, why don't you call mother here"?  "I cannot do that, Nandi. According to his birth she is destined to marry a fisherman", Lord Shiva said with a sad heart.
Nandi said to himself, "Oh, is that so, I have to do something about it".  The next day Nandi took the form of a big fish.  He went to the part of the sea where fishermen used to come fishing.  He started harassing the fishermen. The fishermans went to the chief fisherman with his complaint.  He told them that "we can no longer catch fish in the sea, because a big fish overturns our boats and ruins the nets".
Hearing the complaints of the fishermens, the chief fisherman announced, "Whoever catches that fish will be allowed to marry my daughter Parvati".  Many young fishermen tried one by one but none could catch the fish. Then the chief fisherman prayed to Lord Shiva, "Oh God, please help us get rid of this big fish".  Goddess Parvati also prayed.  "God, please come to help us".  Lord Shiva heard the prayers of Parvati.  He took the form of a young and beautiful fisherman.  He went to the chief fisherman and said, "I have come here to help you.
I will catch that fish and then marry your daughter Parvati ". When the young and beautiful fisherman (Lord Shiva) went to sea to catch the fish, Nandi was very happy. Nandi was in the form of a fish at that time.  The young fisherman caught the fish.
Then the chief fisherman married his daughter Parvati to the young fisherman.  Thus Lord Shiva once again regained Goddess Parvati as his beloved wife.

63.  Lord Vishnu cursed to mother Lakshmi.

The pair of Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi is considered to be the most beautiful pair, that is why most of their pictures are taken together, both Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi contribute to movement the world, where Lord Vishnu preserve the world.  Maa Lakshmi brings prosperity to this world, but there was a time when Maa Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu had to separate.  The story of curses is behind this.  Today I will tell two stories in this context.

(a). 1st story.

According to ancient stories, once Lord Vishnu made up a plan to roam the earth, but when Goddess Lakshmi came to know about this, she also insisted to walk with him, for which Vishnu refused but she did not listen and Vishnu ji was forced to take them along, Vishnu ji agreed to take Goddess Lakshmi with him, but he placed a condition in front of Goddess Lakshmi, he said that you will not see any other direction nor will touch anything without asking, Mother Lakshmi immediately heard and said yes to.
When both Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi reached the earth, the weather of the earth was very beautiful because it had rained a day before and sunrise was also happening, seeing such beautiful view, Goddess Lakshmi was mesmerized and did not care.  When she has come in the north direction and she forgot her promise to Lord Vishnu, due to which she plucked flowers from a garden, but when she broke the flower and came back to Vishnu, there were tears in the eyes of Vishnu, when Mata Lakshmi asked her the reason, then he said that you should not touch anyone's thing without asking it.  She remembered very sad and then Vishnu ji said that you will surely get the punishment of mistake, he cursed Mother that in the garden from where she has plucked flowers . That gardener's home you will be live as maid then you will be able to enter the Baikuntha.
After this, Mother Lakshmi took the form of a poor woman and went to  near the gardener's house to ask for shelter and told the gardener that she had no one to help them. The gardener was a kind person, took pity on mother Lakshmi and took them into his house as own daughter and from the very next day everything started getting better with the gardener and all his flowers were sold together. By the evening he bought a cow and upon seeing it his desire was complete , that gardener always felt that this was happening since the arrival of the girl.
Once the gardener went to own house, saw that a jewel-laden woman with a glazing face was sitting at his house, and when he went near her, he recognized that this is his daughter who is mother Lakshmi herself.

Knowing this, he said to Mother Lakshmi, Mother forgive me, I made you work, I have committed a crime, on hearing this, Mother Lakshmi said that Madhava you are a very good person, you gave me a place in your house, like your daughter, in return I give you a boon that there will never be a shortage of wealth in your life, you will get all the happiness of the world, saying that, Goddess Lakshmi again went to Baikunth.

2nd story:----

Once upon a time, Shrihari was seated with Lakshmi in Vaikuntha .  At the same time Revanta arrived on board the horse named Uchchehashrava. Uchchehashrava horse was very beautiful in appearance.  His beauty could not be compared to any other horse.  Therefore, Lakshmi ji kept looking at the beauty of that horse.  When Lord Vishnu found Lakshmi mesmerized and looking at horse, he sought to divert her attention from horse, but Lakshmi ji was engrossed in seeing. Lakshmi ji did not get disturbed even after repeated stirs by Lord Vishnu, considering it to be disregarded, Lord Vishnu got angry and cursed Lakshmi- "You have lost so much in the beauty of this horse that I have once  - even after stirs, you kept your attention in it, so you become mare. "
When Lakshmi was distracted and the curse was discovered, she started offering prayers to Lord Vishnu with a dedicated gesture - "I will not be able to live for a single moment in your disconnection, so please bless me and take back own curse."
Then Vishnu corrected his curse and said- "The curse cannot be withdrawn completely.  But yes, you will get rid of this curse after childbirth in your mare form and you will come back to me again. "
Goddess Lakshmi, who became a mare due to the curse of Lord Vishnu, started doing austerities of Lord Shiva at the confluence of Yamuna and Tamsa river.  Pleased with Lakshmi's tenacity, Shiva came with Parvati.  He asked Lakshmi ji the reason for doing penance, then Lakshmi ji told him all the things related to becoming mare and prayed for her salvation. Then Lord Shiva said- “Goddess!  You don't worry  For this, I will explain to Vishnu that he should take a horse form and please you and make a son like own so that you can go back to him soon. ”
Lakshmi ji was very happy to hear Lord Shiva things.  She started realizing that I would soon be free from the curse and get Sri Hari (Vishnu).  Lord Shiva left from there.  Lakshmi ji, who was form a mare, was again in austerity.  Lots of time elapsed.  But Lord Vishnu did not come near her.  Then she remembered Lord Shiva again.  Lord Shiva appeared.  He satisfied Lakshmi ji and said- “Devi!  Be patient . The result of patience is sweet.  Vishnu will surely come near you in the form of horse. "
Saying this, Lord Shiva became impeded.  Upon reaching Kailash, Lord Shiva started thinking how to make Vishnu as a horse and send near to Lakshmi.  In the end, he sent one of his gana-Chitrupa to Vishnu by making him a messenger.  Chitrupa reached the Lord Vishnu.  Knowing that the messenger of Lord Shiva has come, Lord Vishnu asked the messenger to tell all the news.
The messenger told him all the words of Lord Shiva.  Finally, Lord Vishnu agreed to become horse by accepting Shiva's proposal.  He took the form of horse and reached the confluence of Yamuna and Tapasa where Lakshmi was doing austerities by taking the form of mare.
Lakshmi ji was very happy to see Lord Vishnu coming in the form of horse.  The two began to move and love together.  Shortly after, Lakshmi Ji became pregnant as a mare.  In due course, a beautiful child was born from the womb of mare.  After that Lakshmi ji went to Vaikuntha Sri Hari Vishnu.
After Laxmi ji left, the responsibility of raising that child was taken by Yayati's son Turvasu, because he was inferior to his children and was performing a yajna to get a son.  The boy was named Haihay.  Later, the descendants of Haihay are called Haihayavanshi.

64. Mata Parvati cursed to Lord Vishnu, Narada, Kartikeya and Ravana .

It is said in the Puranas that one should never cheat with anyone in life, because whoever we cheat with, one gets hurt after knowing the truth.  In this case, the 'ah' emanating from his heart reaches God directly.  On the other hand, the curse given by a true human being can hurt and hurt any person.
A similar story involving deception is found in Vamanapurana, in which Mata Parvati could not bear the deceit committed by Shiva and other gods herself and gets angry and curses other gods including Shiva.  Once Lord Shankar expressed his desire to play dutya (gambling) with Mata Parvati.
Lord Shankar lost everything in this game.  After losing, Bholenath went on the banks of the Ganga, wearing his leaves clothes while making his Leela.  When Kartikeya came to know about the whole thing, he came to take back all the things from Mata Parvati.  This time Parvati ji lost in the game and Karthikeya went back with all the goods of Shankar. Now Parvati also got worried that all the stuff also went away and her husband also got away.  When Parvati told her grief to her beloved son Ganesha, the mother devotee Ganesha himself came to Lord Shankar to play the game.
Ganesh won and returned and told the news of his victory to Mata.  Parvati said that she should have brought her father along.  Ganesh then set out to search for Bholenath. He met Bholenath in Haridwar. At that time, Bholenath was traveling with Lord Vishnu and Kartikeya.  Angered with Parvati, Bholenath refused to return.  Ravana, a devotee of Bholenath, frightened Ganesha's vehicle mushak(rat) as a cat.  Rat escaped leaving Ganesh.
Lord Vishnu took the form of dice with the wish of Bholenath.  Ganesh told Bholenath about the sadness of his mother.  On this, Bholenath said, "I have made a new dice. If your mother agrees to play the game again, I can go back."
On Ganesh's assurance, Bholenath returned to Parvati and asked to play the game.  Parvati laughed at this and said, what is you have so that the game can be played.  Hearing this, Bholenath became silent.  On this Narada ji gave his veena etc. to him.

In this game, Bholenath started winning every time.  After throwing a couple of dice, Ganesh understood and he revealed to Goddess Parvati the secret of taking the dice form of Lord Vishnu.  Parvati ji got angry after hearing the whole thing.
Ravana tried to convince Mata, but his anger did not calm down and with anger he cursed Bholenath that the burden of the Ganges stream would remain on his head.  Narada got the curse of never staying in one place. Cursed Lord Vishnu that this Ravana would be your enemy and cursed Ravana that only Vishnu will destroy you.  Kartikeya was also cursed by Mother Parvati to always remain in the form of a child.

65. Maa Lakshmi cursed to Lord Vishnu.

It is a matter of ancient times, Lord Vishnu had to fight with the demons continuously for ten thousand years.  At the end of the war, he went to his residence in Vaikuntha and meditated.  His bow's thread was tight, due to tired of war, he soon fell asleep in that state and he himself bowed a little with the help of his bow.
On the other hand, in order to carry out all their work in heaven, the gods thought to perform the yajna, but due to they were afraid of the fear of the asuras may destroy the yajna.  They went to the shelter of Brahma Ji with his problem, then Brahma Ji asked the gods to seek the help of Lord Vishnu and went to Vaikuntha with the gods themselves. On reaching there, he found Lord Vishnu lying unconscious in yoganidra, and all the gods started trying to awaken him.  When all the gods were unable to awaken them, Brahmaji produced a worm named Vamri. On the orders of Brahma ji, that worm cut the thread  of the bow with its sharp teeth, on which Lord Vishnu was sleeping with support.  As soon as the thread of the bow was cut, there was a terrible explosion and there was a dark darkness in the whole universe, which scared all the gods.
When darkness fell, all the Gods were stunned to see Lord Vishnu, because Lord Vishnu's head had become separated and his head became invisible.  Seeing this situation of Lord Vishnu, all the gods got worried, then on the advice of Brahma Ji, the gods praised Mahamaya Bhagwati Goddess Durga.  Mother Durga appeared in front of the gods. When the Gods asked about the state of Lord Vishnu, the Goddess said, O Gods!  A monster named Hayagriva (horse-necked) tried to please me with his hard penance, pleased with his penance, I gave him a boon that he will die by  hand of Hayagreeva. After receiving a boon from me, Hayagreeva became involved in the works of sin, he started torturing sages-saints, and for his death I created my illusion.
Due to my illusion, Lord Vishnu once upon a time saw the beautiful form of Goddess Lakshmi, laughing at Lord Vishnu like this, Goddess Lakshmi felt insulted and she cursed Vishnu to be headless.
Due to the this curse, Lord Vishnu's forehead is separated from his torso.  Then the Maa Durga said to the gods, that monster is sure to end, so you are cut off the head of an horse and put it on the torso of Lord Vishnu. Due to the head of the horse is this form of Lord Vishnu will be known as Hayagreeva.  This was done according to the orders of Brahma and as soon as the head of the horse was attached to the torso of Lord Vishnu, he became the incarnation of Hayagreeva. Lord Hayagriva and demon Hayagriva fought a war of many years in which the demon Hayagriva was killed, thus a great enemy of the gods was killed by the grace of Lord Vishnu.

66. Maa Ganga and maa Saraswati cursed to each other.

According to the Brahmavarta Purana, Lord Vishnu's three wives Lakshmi, Ganga and Saraswati argue among themselves and started cursing each other.
Let us know what was the reason behind this.
According to the legend, Lord Vishnu had three wives - Lakshmi, Ganga and Saraswati.  The trio always tried to keep Narayan happy so that they could get their special love.  Goddess Lakshmi and Mother Saraswati became jealous once upon seeing Shrihari's greater love for Goddess Ganga.
On this, Lakshmi ji did not say anything, but Saraswati ji told Lord Vishnu a lot of bad things for this bias.  Lakshmi tried to stop her, but due to anger she continued to rebuke Narayan. She also called Goddess Ganga to bad things. Fed up with this quarrel, Lord Vishnu went out of Vaikuntha for some time. Saraswati felt very sad to see Narayan going out like this, but he also understood the reason for Goddess Ganga.  In the same anger, she was inspired to hit the Ganges.  Seeing this sin, Lakshmi could not stay away from her and she came in between them.
She tried to calm them both by explaining.  Goddess Ganga calmed down due to this, but the anger of Saraswati increased further.  Thus, due to coming in the middle, she got angry and cursed Lakshmi to become a tree.
Goddess Lakshmi immediately turned into a basil plant under the influence of Saraswati's curse.  Seeing innocent Lakshmi being cursed in such a way, now Ganga was also angry.  She cursed Saraswati to become a river and flow on the ground floor. Unhappy with this, Saraswati also cursed Ganga to become a river and carry the ash of humans.  When Lord Vishnu came back, he came to know about the curse of Saraswati and Ganga.  At the same time, seeing Lakshmi transformed into a plant, she felt immense sorrow. Due to the calm nature and well-being of Goddess Lakshmi, he thought it appropriate to keep him with her as his wife.  Thinking that such a situation could come back, he decided to sacrifice Goddess Ganga and Goddess Saraswati.
When both of them came to know about this, they apologized to Lord Vishnu.  Then Srihari said that the Ganges will descend on the earth to wash away the sins of humans.  At the same time, she will remain in his feet as part, in the kamandal of the Brahma and also in the jatas of Mahadev.
Saraswati will also flow with her on the ground floor and will also live with him as a part.  Only Goddess Lakshmi will live in Baikunth, becoming his wife completely.  Along with this, he also took the form of Shaligram and reached the Tulsi form of Goddess Lakshmi and marriage with her.

It is said that Ganga and Saraswati have been flowing on the earth as a river due to each other's curse since then.  Goddess Saraswati's curse has ended and that is why she has returned to her world and Goddess Ganga will also be completely disappear by completing her curse by the end of Kali Yuga.  But even today, the confluence of Ganga and Saraswati can be seen in Prayag.

67. Mata Parvati cursed to Shiva's gan Bhiringi.

Shiva and Parvati are one form, both merge into one. That is why Lord Ardhanarishwar takes a form.  A Shiva devotee could not accept this truth.  Shiva then showed him Ardhanarishwar form.  Also punished for his audacity.  Carefully read the story of that prominent Shivgana Bhringi, then you will have some idea of this relation of Shiva-Parvati.

The special thing about Bhringi is that they have three legs. How did the Bhiringi have three legs?  There is a story behind this that tells us how deep the love between Uma-Shankar.  These two are virtually the same.  Actually, due to an unfair stubbornness of Bhringi, Sadashiv and Jagdamba had to take Ardhanarishwar form.

Bhringi was a great Shiva devotee.  He was very fond of Sadashiva's feet.  He did not care for anyone except Shiva in his dream.  Even he considered Jagadjanani Maa Parvati as separate from Sadashiva. His mind did not accept that there is no difference between Shiva and Parvati. When Bhringi came to orbit Shiva.  Shiva was meditative.  Bhiringi was getting mad in Shiva's love.  He only wanted to revolve around Shiva as his definition of celibacy was different.  But what to do, Parvati ji is seated in Shivaji's left side. Bhiringi could not stop own temper.  The courage increased so much that he requested Jagdamba to sit away from Shivji so that I could revolve around Shiva.
Jagdamba understood that it is ascetic but it has not been learned.  Right now it is of incomplete knowledge, so he ignored the matter of Bhiringi. Bhiringi was stubborn, not ready to hear and understand anything.  Again said to Parvati ji that you go away for some time, let me go round.
Mother Parvati objected to this and said stop the inappropriate thing.  Jagadamba is the power of Mahadev.  How would she have prepared to be separated from Sadashiva!  Mother explained to Bhringi in many ways, explaining nature and man's relationship.  Gave the example of the Vedas, but Bhiringi  too persisted.  The stubborn intellect is halved anyway.
The knowledge and teachings given by the mother did not come to his discretion.  His intellect was not ready to understand this mystery of creation.  He was only determined to revolve around Shiva.  Mother thought that there is no benefit to explain anything to this ignorant person.  It should be ignored.  Mother did not separate from Shiva.
Bhiringi also kept his stubbornness.  Made a plan to do what he wanted. Bhiringi took the form of a snake and started orbiting Shiva.  He moved, trying to get out from between Jagadamba and Mahadev.  His audacity resulted in the destruction of Shiva's tomb.
Shiva understood that this fool distracted by seeing the Jagdamba on my left side.  He is distinguishing between the two.  To explain this in a symbolic hint, Shivji immediately took on the form of Ardhanarishwar.  Jagdamba had now merged into them.  Shivji started appearing in male form from right side and female form from left side.
Now Bhringi's plan started to fail . The stubbornness of fool starts going higher than God. Bhiringi  did not lose even that much.  He had to revolve around Shiva.
In the form of a rat, he started trying to separate the ardhanarishwar form of God from one another.  Now it was too much.  The patience of Jagadamba, who continued to bear the audacity of Shiva devotee Bhringi, missed.
She cursed to Bhiringi- "O Bhiringi, you are violating the rules of the universe."  If you consider foolishness act to respect the mother power, then at this time your mother's part will be separated from your body.
Mahadev himself got upset after hearing this curse. Bhiringi's intellect may have been lost, but Mahadev knew how serious this curse meant.  According to the mechanistic interpretation of tantras, bones and muscles in the human body get the father, while blood and flesh are obtained from the mother's share.
What was there then, Bhiringi was in trouble .  Immediately blood and flesh separated from his bodies. Only bones and muscles are left in the body. Death could not have happened because he was in the region of the liberated Kailash and Sadashiva and Mahamaya themselves were in front of him.
To defeat his life, the Yamdoots could not dare to reach there. Unbearable pain caused the Bhiringi to become restless. This curse was also given by Adishakti Jagadamba. She gave this curse to bring the discrimination of the Bhiringi to the right path.  Therefore, Mahadev also did not interrupt.
The benefit of this curse was that the Bhiringi, falling into unbearable pain, understood that father's power is not beyond mother power in any case.  Mother and father together create this body.  Therefore both are revered.
After this, Bhringi prayed to Jagadamba, suffering from unbearable pain.  Mother is a mother.  She immediately pleased him and ended the suffering.  Mata started a process to withdraw her curse.  He prevented Mother from withdrawing the curse.
Bhringi said- Mother has taken great pity on me by removing my pain.  But let me be in this form.  This form of mine will be an example for the world.  In this creation, again, like me, no one will fall prey to confusion, forgetting to understand mother and father apart from each other.  I committed so much crime, yet you have a favor on me.  Now I will always be around you as a living example.
Mahadev and Jagadamba were both happy to hear this devotee.  The mother Jagadamba and father Mahadev, taking Ardhanarishwar form, immediately gave Bhringi a prominent position in their ganas.  Bhiringi was able to move and therefore gave him a third leg.  With the third leg he carries his load and walks with Shiva-Parvati.
Ardhanarishwar said- O Bhiringi, you will always be with us.  Your presence will be a message to this world that in every living being, the part is male, the same part is female.  One who difference  between a woman and a man becomes like you. Men and women both together pursue the world, both are equal  . To prove this, I have taken the form of Ardhanarishwar. Both men and women have their own place, their own existence.  The one who rejects it does not get the favor of either Shiva or Parvati.  That living being will die on the earth without grace of Shiva and Parvati.
Bhiringi attained the position, to which Indra and big deities also crave to achieve it.  Shivji has given sexual creation to the world.  For this, he first showed Brahma his Ardhanarishvara form.
Brahma imagined  women after seeing him.  With the combination of women and men, he gave the system of creation.  That means male and female together become creator like subtle Brahma.

68. Mata Parvati cursed to Mandodari.

We are all familiar with Ravana's wife Mandodari.  But today we will tell you that in fact, Mandodari was cursed by mother Parvati, due to which she became the wife of Ravana.

Ramayana is our mythological text, with which we remain happy with half-incomplete information.  Actually, it means to say that whenever the story of Ramayana is mentioned, it ends by wandering between Rama, Sita and Ravana.

But never tried to know and understand important characters like mandodari.  Why do we know Mandodari as the wife of Ravana, she will also have a separate identity.  At the end of Lankesh Ravana, the chapter of the remaining lifetime of Mandodari closes and the story again turns to the other side. Even after studying the entire Ramayana, most people do not know how Mandodari's life must have been.  So today we tell you about some facts which you may not know.
Both the history of Ravana and the history of Mandodari have a deep connection between each other.  If in your mind too, an eagerness to know about this is taking birth, then we will solve it.  It is necessary to know how Mandodari was born before knowing the life after the death of Ravana.  So let's start the story of Mandodari -
This story about Mandodari is also mentioned  in the Puranas.  Once upon a time, a beautiful nymph named Madhura reached Mount Kailash while traveling.  In the absence of Parvati devi, she wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and was attracted to Lord Shiva.  While doing this, he put the ash on her body. Unaware of the unwavering love of Shiva Parvati, she was involved in these antics that only when Mother Parvati arrived. Mother Parvati's body trembled with anger after seeing this scene running on Mount Kailash.  At that moment, without any delay, she cursed Madhura to become a frog.  Not only this, but according to that curse, Madhura had to spent 12 years as a frog in a single well.
Parvati Devi replied that on Shiva's request, I cannot take back my curse but can only tell a solution. She can attain its true form by performing austerities but after austerity for a year. Now let's talk about Mayasur who was the king of Asuras.  Mayasur and his wife Hema wished for a daughter.  They had two sons, but still both started penance in the desire of the girl.  By this time, Madhura's tenacity was also being completed.
Madhura got the real look and then started making sounds to come out of the well.  Hema and Mayasur rushed to save her as soon as they heard her compassionate call. They were pleased to get Madhura as a daughter and named her Mandodari.
Ravana once went to meet Mayasur and could not stop his attraction after seeing Mandodari.  When he proposed to Mandodari for marriage in front of Mayasur, the proposal became rejected .  But Ravana was not one to give up so easily, he got forcefully married to the daughter of Mayasur.
Mandodari was also familiar with the nature of Lankapati Ravana and his exclusive Shiva devotion, so for the protection of father and family, She also did not deny marriage.  After some time Mandodari gave birth to three sons from Ravana;  Eldest son Meghnad, Akshay Kumar and Atikay.
Scared of Ravana's arrogance and strength, Mandodari knew in her mind that Ravana has walk on the path of apocalypse.  Mandodari's every attempt to convince her husband Ravana proved to be a failure.  Despite all his efforts, Lankanresh did not agree to return Sita Mata to Lord Rama.
Even knowing that Ravana was slaughtered at the hands of Shri Rama due to a curse, she did not leave her husband during the war.
It is mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana that after the end of Ravana, Mandodari reached the battlefield and was sad to see the destruction of her relatives.

It is also mentioned in the "Adhbhoot Ramayana " that Shri Rama said to Mandodari, "You are the queen of Swarnapuri, marry Vibhishana and make the life of the people of Lanka happy."But Ram Ji reached Ayodhya with mother Sita and Laxman  , Mandodari locked herself in a room of the palace.  After some time, considering the matter of Shreerama, she came out and decided to marry Vibhishan.  Both of them fulfilled their duty by extending the empire of Lanka in the proper direction.

Story of curses(PART-03)

Story of curses(PART-03)

Friends, the third part of the series of curses is presented, I hope you will like this article as before. The link of Part-2 will be given to you at the end of the article. And if you want to read all the parts then go to see  label (  The Curses series).

11.Brahma was fascinated by his daughter, Shiva gave terrible curse.

Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are worshiped as the creators of the universe, these three gods are considered responsible for creating, preserving and destroying the entire creation. Lord Vishnu is known as the preserver of the world ,Brahma as the creator of the universe and Mahesh is known for the destroyer of the world when sin increases.  But do you know that Lord Brahma was cursed by Lord Shiva during the creation of the universe.  Lord Shiva could not tolerate a work done by him.
According to the story described in Shivmahapuran, when the time came to create the creation, the Tridevas divided their works.  Lord Brahma had the responsibility of creating mankind.

Someone's help was needed to create such a big creation.  That is why Brahma created a beautiful girl named Satyarupa, that girl was so beautiful that anyone would be fascinated by seeing her.  Her face was so glazing that even the greatest saints could not live without being attracted to her.
Seeing her beauty Brahma too became facinated by her.  For a moment they forgot everything and kept staring at Satyarupa. Sensing his vision, Lord Shiva did not take any time.  Shiva wanted to explain him.  But even before this, Brahma expressed his desire to marry Satyarupa in front of everyone.
Hearing such a disastrous thing from his mouth, all the gods present there were shocked.  On the other hand, Lord Shiva got angry.  He tried a lot to convince Brahma.  But they were not ready to accept. Shiva said, "O God, you have created this girl with your own hands, so this girl became your daughter." Satyarupa is your part.  You should not do such an indecent thing for your daughter '
Upon hearing this, Brahma was filled with anger.  He started uttering abuses to Lord Shiva.  Hearing this, Shiva's anger reached the climax and he cursed Brahma.  He said, 'You have insulted the father-daughter relationship by saying such a thing about your daughter.  Therefore you are not eligible to worship. From today your worship will be negligible.  Your devotees will remain nominal all over the world. Brahma apologized to all the gods including Shiva after hearing such bitter words from the mouth of Shiv.  But Shiva's curse showed his influence.  You must also have noticed that Brahma is worshiped less than other gods.  The only temple of Brahma is in Pushkar, Rajasthan.

12. Why Lord Shiva cursed Brahma and Ketaki flower?

Lord Shree Brahma Ji, Lord Shree Hari Vishnu and Lord Shree Mahesh (Mahadev the God of Gods) have been considered as the most revered in Hindu culture. Lord Shri Brahma Ji is considered to be the creator of the universe, Lord Shri Vishnu is the preserver of the universe and Lord Shri Mahesh is considered the destroyer.  In addition to all directions, the head looking above was also with Lord Brahma. After all, what happened to which god, who had cut off the head looking over Lord Brahma.  At the same time, why did Lord Shiva curse the adorable white Ketki flower(Pandanus flower )not to participate in the worship.  Let now I introduce you to these secrets today.
It is said that once in our revered Trinity, Lord Shri Brahma and Lord Vishnu Hari, there was a rush to consider themselves superior to each other.
Lord Shri Brahma Ji was calling himself superior as being the creator of the universe and Lord Shri Vishnu Ji was calling superior as being the preserver of the universe.
When there was no conclusion of this long-running dispute, then Lord Shiva was appeared there in the form of Shivalinga. Lord Shiva said to Lord Shree Brahma and Lord Shree Vishnu to find the end of Shivalinga.  Whoever finds its end first.  He will be considered the best.
Both Lord Shri Brahma and Lord Shri Vishnu set out in the opposite direction to find the ends.  Lord Shri Vishnu returned after some time not getting the ends. At the same time, Lord Shri Brahma Ji failed to find the end of Shivalinga and returned.  When Lord Shree Vishnu and Lord Shree Brahma came face to face with Lord Shiva as Shivalinga.
Then Lord Shri Vishnu Ji said that I tried a lot.  But I failed to find the end of Shivling.  But Lord Shri Brahma Ji told Lord Vishnu that I have found the end of Shivling. And the Ketki tree(pandanus tree) is a witness to this.  If you are not sure of this, then you should ask the Ketki tree itself.  Hearing this, the Ketaki tree gave its testimony in favor of Lord Shri Brahma.
Lord Shiva appeared in his real form upon hearing the false testimony of Ketaki tree.  Angry Lord Shankar cut off the 5th head of Lord Shri Brahma.
But Lord Shiva came to know everything and he cursed Brahma at the same time that after this, you will not be worshiped anywhere in this world and he said to the Ketaki flower that after now you will  not be offered to any god-goddess.
At the same time cursed the tree of Ketaki that the flowers produced from its tree will never be acceptable at the time of worship of Shivling.  If one will offer ketaki flower on the lingam.  So all his worthy will end.  Be aware that at the time of worshiping on Shivalinga we mainly offer white flowers.  But Lord Shiva is not worshiped with the white flowers of Ketaki.

13. A apsara (nymph) of heaven cursed Brahmadev.

The physique of Jagatpita Brahmaji was radiant and adorable.  Seeing his enchanting form, the heaven's Apsara Mohini became kamasakta and she sat in a trance sitting near Brahma ji.  When Brahmaji's sleep broke, he asked Mohini, Devi!  Why are you renouncing heaven and sitting near me?
Mohini said, 'O Brahmadev!  My body and mind are falling in love with you.  Please accept my love. '
Brahmaji started giving him moral knowledge to remove Mohini's desire , but Mohini began to seduce him with erotic ways to dissuade Brahmaji.  Brahmaji started remembering his favored Srihari to avoid his illusion.
At the same time, the Saptarishis arrived in Brahmaloka.  Seeing Mohini near Brahmaji, the Saptarishis asked them, why is this beautiful Apsara sitting with you?  Brahma Ji said, 'This Apsara was tired of dancing and is sitting near me with a daughter's spirit to relax.
The Saptarishis knew the false language of Brahmaji with their yogashakti and smiled and departed from there.  Mohini got very angry on hearing such a statement of Brahma.
Mohini said, I wanted you to fulfill my kama desires and you gave me daughter status.  There is great pride of being restrained on your mind, only then you have rejected my love.  If I truly love you, then you will not be worshiped in the world.

14.  Why did Mata Savitri curse Lord Brahmadev?

There is a legend behind this curse.  According to the Padma Purana, a demon named Vajranash kept a lot of trouble on this earth.  To save the earth from the demon Vajranash, Lord Brahmadev killed him.
But while slaughtering the lotus flower fell from Brahmadev's hands. The place where this flower fell is called Pushkar. Pushkar is located in Ajmer district of Rajasthan.
After this incident, Lord Brahmadev decided to perform a yagna at this place for the good of the world.  Brahmadev reached Pushkar at the appointed time to perform the yajna, but Brahmadev's wife Savitri could not reach on time.
The auspicious time of yajna was being spent and it was necessary for a wife to complete the yagna.  Then Brahmaji married a local girl and started the yagna. Meanwhile,  Savitri the wife of Brahmaji reached  Yagya and became angry to see that another woman was sitting in her place.  Due to anger, Mother Savitri cursed Brahmaji that there will be no temple in this world nor will anyone worship you.

15. Narada ji cursed Brahma.

In the work of creation of Brahma's creation, first of all, four Kumar appeared in the mind of Brahma, who seemed to be of five years of age and was adorabled by Brahmatej.
The first was the Sanak, the second Sanandan, the third Sanatan and the fourth Sanatkumar.  After this, from the mouth of Brahma, attractive male like the gold, was born as the seed of the Kshatriyas, Swayambhu Manu and his wife Shatrupa.
After the birth of sons, Brahma ji asked them to create the creation, but the son of Brahma went to austerity due to extremely spiritual soul.  This caused great anger to Jagatpati Brahma and the enraged Brahmadeva started burning in Brahmatej. After this, Brahma gave birth to the Saptrishris. Later, he gave birth to Narada from the throat. Brahma ordered all his sons to help the universe.

On this Narada ji said, "First of all, you call the own eldest sons  Sanak,Skandan, Santkuar etc. and get them married and after that you should ask us to do so. When our eldest brother is doing penance, why are you putting us in bondage with the world?  You have given some sons more penance than nectar and you are giving us even the odd enjoyment of poison.  Who fool left devotion of God, will focus on destructive subjects.
Brahma ji got filled with rage after listening to Narada.  His face turned red and all the organs started shivering.  Then very angry, Brahma cursed Narada and said, O Narada!  My curse will erase your knowledge. After this, you becoming dasiputra in the birth by vaishno devotion, after getting kindness from God, you will become my son again.  At that time, I will give you divine and ancient knowledge.  But this time you disappear from my eyes and go into the world .
Narada said ! Stop your anger, you are the master of ascetics. You are creator of universe.  Your anger has been unprovoked on me.  The scholar man should punish or abandon his misguided son.
But how can you curse your ascetic son as you are pandit ?  Why not be the son of Jagatsrishta, if he does not have devotion in the feet of Lord Shrihari, then he is more sinny man. You have cursed me without any offense. If I curse you, it will not be unfair.
Saying this, Narada Ji said - My curse will surely erase all your mantras including your kawach, stotra and worship in the whole world.  Until the three kalpas pass away, you will neglisible in the three worlds.
Your yajna part will stop at this time.  You will not be worshiped even during the fast. You  will only worship by the gods ,After three kalpas, you will also be worshiped by worshipers.
In this way, due to the curse of Narada, the worship source of Brahma was omitted and the worship of Brahma ie fast, yajna etc. were stopped.

16. Brahmaji cursed Kamdeva.

Once upon a time, Jagatpita Brahma was in his assembly that suddenly a very beautiful beauty was born from his heart.  Before the Jagatpita Brahma could understand anything, in this sequence, an incredibly beautiful young man appeared from his heart, with a bow in his hand and arrows loaded with flowers in the quiver.
This young man had amazing power with which he could generate feelings of love and kama with his arrows within any living being.
After origin, the young man asked his creator , Brahma, to give orders.  Impressed by his attraction, Jagatpita Brahma ordered the young man to cast all creatures in the love trap with the power of his arrows.  With this order, the Jagatpita also said that not all living beings, even the deities, cannot escape the attack of this arrow.
Due to this power, this young man was also later known as Kamdev and Manmad.  In order to show his power, Kamadev took out an arrow loaded with flowers from his quiver and suddenly drove him to the court of Jagatpita Brahma.  Due to the attack of this arrow, every male present in the assembly was fascinated at the beauty of Sundari born before Kamadeva and started looking at him.
When the interpretation of this humiliating scene reached Lord Shiva by Dharma, he himself appeared in the assembly of Jagatpita Brahma and severely reprimanded Jagatpita Brahma.
Jagatapita Brahma felt humiliated when he was reprimanded by Lord Shiva.  It was the agony of that humiliation that Jagatpita Brahma considered Kamadeva to be guilty for this whole incident and cursed him to be burned to ashes by Lord Shiva's third eye.  Kamadeva himself was surprised when such a curse was received by Jagatapita Brahma.
On this, Kamadeva prayed to Lord Shiva that he himself had fulfilled his duty by following the order of Jagatpita Brahma.  Though Kamadeva's statement had some merit, Jagatapita Brahma argued that his empowerment as Kamadeva was not meant to create scenes of sexuality or obscenity. Therefore, Kamadeva was required to work within the realm of discipline, restraint and humility.  However, Jagadpita Brahma said that Lord Shiva himself will come out with an accurate solution when the time comes.

17.  Lord Brahma cursed Mother Ganga.

In the Ikshvaku dynasty, there were many popular king.  Mahabhisha was one of them.  While obeying the people, Mahabhisha performed many Ashwamedha and Rajsuya Yajna and became eligible of heaven by receiving  the post of Rajarshi. Indra used to give him special respect.  Once, in Indra's heaven singing program was going on. Then Brahmaji entered heaven with some work. The deities and all the rajrishis including the Mahabhishas were present in the service with Brahmaji receiving and welcoming.  Then Goddess Gangaji also arrived there.  Along with Ganga, Pawan Dev was also present.  When Pawan Dev got up to bow down to Brahmaji, because of his flow, Ganga ji's clothes in white robes moved slightly from the body.
Her stole fell down.  Seeing this, all the gods and rajrishis lowered their eyes, but the great sage Mahabhisha kept staring at the beauty of Ganga.
Ganga was also familiar with the popularity of Mahabhisha.  She also stared at him unnaturally.  They too did not notice that their clothes have become messy.
Brahmaji felt very sad due to this indecent behavior of Mahabhish.  Brahmaji said- Rajarshi Mahabhishh you are schloar, also a saintly soul, but right now you need to be a little more efficient.  You have not yet become worthy of the dignity of heaven. For today's rudeness, you will have to go to the earth again.  Renounce heaven and take birth as a human being and suffer the sufferings of death. Brahmaji was also furious over the behavior of Ganga.  He also cursed Ganga - you are a goddess, you also had to take care of dignity.  Due to this rudeness, you too have to conceive like mortals and have children.  Mourn on your child diffculties.
Mahabhish started apologizing.  Indra also requested Brahmaji to have mercy.  Brahmaji said - I will not be return cursed, but I will arrange for his path of salvation. Due to Goddess Ganga, Mahabhisha will do something unpleasant for you, which will hurt you a lot.  When you rage on the Goddess, then this curse will be liberated.
Accepting Brahmaji's curse, Mahabhishh begged him to make him son of Purvanshi King Pratipa in the earth.  Brahma accepted this wish.
After meeting Brahma, Goddess Ganga started to return, and on the way she met the Vasus.  Brahmaputra Maharishi Vasistha had cursed the Vasus to take birth on the earth due to attempting to steal cow.

On the apology by Vasus, Vashistha had said that all the eight Vasus will take birth from Ganga's womb.  Ganga will cursefree seven with birth, but the eighth Vasu will not be easily released.
Vasus pleaded with Gangaji that Vashishtha's curse is weakening his power, so that he should soon give birth from her womb and save them.
Ganga accepted  to give liberation as soon as they were born, in exchange of which the eight Vasus vowed to take birth as sons in her womb on the earth .
King Pratip was childless.  He started austerities at the entrance of the Ganges to get children.  He wanted Ganga to be born in his house.  Ganga appeared pleased with the tenacity.
Ganga told the king that she could not come as a child.  Pratip told Ganga that if you are unable to appear as a child, then promise to become the wife of my future son.  It will also fulfill my wish.  Ganga accepted.
Goddess Ganga told Pratipa the method of obtaining a son.  Pratip followed him and started doing intense penance.  Due to the effects of asceticism, he received a son.
Mahabhisha was born as Shantanu, Pratip's son, on the orders of Brahmaji.  Shantanu was stunning.  When Shantanu was young, Pratip handed him the kingdom and went himself to the forest for penance.
Once Shantanu went hunting in the forest and, distraught with thirst, reached the Ganges.  On the banks of the river, he was fascinated when he saw a woman who looked like Lakshmi in beauty.
She was Ganga herself.  Shantanu proposed marriage to her.  While fulfilling the promise given to Prateik, Ganga said - I accept your marriage purposal but you have to promise that you will not object to any of my decisions.  Otherwise I will abandon you.
Shantanu got married by promising Ganga and came to Shantanu's palace.  Eight sons of Shantanu from Ganga's womb, who were cursed Vasus, whom Ganga had promised to release.
Ganga threw seven sons into the river as soon as they were born.  Shantanu had promised that he would not object to any decision of Ganga, therefore, he could not speak anything.
When Ganga started taking the eighth son to the river for shedding, Shantanu was furious with Ganga and prevented her from doing so.
On hearing this, Ganga said to King Shantanu - Maharaj, you have broken your vow today.  According to my condition, I sacrifice you today.
In this way, Mahabhisha was freed from the curse of Brahma.  Ganga disappeared with her son.  Shantanu spent many years in brahmacharya .
Then he expressed his desire to see his son from Ganga one day.  Ganga appeared with that child and said- This is your son Devavrata.  Take it along with  he being brave, he will also be a scholar.  In the war skill, it will be like Parashurama.
Shantanu came to his palace with Devavrata.  Devavrata was the eighth Vasu whom Vasistha had not cursed.

18. Kashyap Rishi gave curse to Shiva:

It is said that man's present is based on his past deeds and future is based on present deeds.  But this applies not only to humans but also to Gods.  There are many such stories in our Puranas when due to some actions done by God in the past, they had to suffer in times to come.  One such story is related to Lord Shankar when he had to cut the head of his own son Ganesh due to the curse given to him by Kashyap rishi.
Goddess Parvati once created a child from the cosmetic rouge of her body due to an error in obeying by Nandi and put his life in it and said that you are my son.  You follow my orders and no one else.  Goddess Parvati also said that I am going for a bath.  Nobody should come in.  After a while Lord Shankar came there and started going to the room of Goddess Parvati.
Seeing this, the boy modestly tried to stop them.  Seeing the stubbornness of the child, Lord Shankar became angry and cut off the head of the child with his trident.  When Goddess Parvati saw this, she became very angry.  The fire of her anger created an outcry in the creation.  Then all the gods together praised her and asked Shiva to revive the child.
Then at the behest of Lord Shankar, Vishnu brought an elephant's head cut off and he put that head on the boy's torso and brought it to life.  Then Lord Shankar and other gods gave many blessings to that gajmukh child.  Gods gave him many names like Ganesha, Ganapati, Vinayaka, Vighnaharta, Pratham Pujya etc. and praised the child.  In this way Lord Ganesha was revealed.
According to Brahmavaivartpurana, once Narada ji asked Shri Narayana that Lord you are great schloar and know all Vedas.  I want to know from you that Lord Shankar is considered to be the one to remove all problems.  Why did he cut the forehead of his son Ganesha.
Hearing this, Srinarayan said that Narada is a matter of time.  Shankar strikes the trident in great anger at Surya who killed Mali and Sumali.  Surya was as stunning and powerful as Shiva.  So the Surya's consciousness was destroyed by the trident injury.  He immediately fell down from the chariot.
When Kashyapji saw that my son was in a dying state.  Then they began to mourn by bashing him by the chest.  At that time there was an outcry among all the gods.  All of them started crying loudly in fear.  Darkness engulfed the whole world.  Then the ascetic Kashyap ji, grandson of Brahma, cursed Shiva ji.  The same will be true for your son.  Your son's forehead will be cut off.
Hearing this, Bholenath's anger subsided.  He revived the Sun.  Surya stood in front of Kashyap ji.  When he came to know about the curse of Kashyap ji, he decided to sacrifice everyone.  Hearing this, Lord Brahma approached the Sun with the inspiration of the Gods and appointed him to his work. Brahma, Shiva and Kashyapa happily blessed the Sun and went to their respective areas.  Here Surya also mounted on his zodiac sign.  Mali and Sumali then became white leprosy, destroying their influence.  Then Brahma himself said to both of them - The power of both of you is over with the wrath of the sun.  Your body is damaged.  You worship the sun.  Both of them started worshiping Surya and became healthy again.

19. Mother Parvati cursed Samudradev.

Shiva Purana is considered very special in Hinduism.  At the same time it is described in the scriptures that according to mythological beliefs, when the seas were built by the sons of Maharaja Prithu, the seven seas were of liquids like sweet and milk.  But presently all the sea around the world are all saltwater.  After all, why the sea water is salty, there is a mythological story behind it. Let us know about this story ....
According to Shiva Purana once Goddess Mata Parvati was doing severe penance to get Shiva.  The intensity of her penance was so great that the throne of the gods sitting in the heavens began to shake.  This made the gods afraid.  When all the gods were trying to solve this problem, the sea god was fascinated by seeing the beauty of Goddess Parvati.
When Mata Parvati's penance was complete, Samudra Dev expressed own desire to marry her.  In this regard, he also proposed marriage to Maa Parvati.  Hearing this, Mother Parvati told Samudra Dev that she loves Kailashapati Lord Shiva and has considered her as her husband .  When Samudra Dev heard this, he got angry.  He started saying abuse to Lord Shiva.  He exclaimed in anger, "What is there in that devouring tribal who is not in me, I quench the thirst of all humans, my character is white like milk. O Parvati! Accept my marriage proposal."

Mata Parvati did not bear it when she saw Bholenath being despised in front of her.  She got angry with Samudra Dev.  She cursed the Samudra dev and said, due to sweet water you feel proud will these water become salty.  Due to salt water, people will not be able to receive your water.  The sea water became salty due to that curse of Maa Parvati.  There is also a legend that when the Samudramanthan was formed, the sea water became salty due to the effect of churning.

20. Maharishi Durvasa cursed Devi Ganga.

It is believed that one day rishi Durvasa reached Brahmaloka.  Ganga was also live there in many years ago.  Maharishi Durvasa started bathing there, when a strong gust of wind came and his clothes flew off.  Seeing all this, the young Ganga standing nearby could not stop her laughter and laughed out loud.  In a fit of anger, Durvasa cursed Ganga that she would spend her life as a river on earth and people would take bathe in it to purify themselves.

That's it for today ... Soon I will appear before you again with further stories of this series.

He was not experiencing perfection in own creation because he seemed to have an excess of doltishness instead of consciousness in his creation. Seeing this, he again meditated on Lord Vishnu and told him own problem.  Narayan suggested to him that one should create such a thing that gives rise to consciousness in the universe.
Inspired by this, Brahmadev sprinkled water from his kamandal and invoked a yogic power in his mind. At the same time, her psyche gave birth to a very beautiful and supernatural woman who had Veena in her hand.
When she came and bowed to the Supreme Father, Brahmdeva was enchanted to see her beauty and began to experience a kind of doltishness in himself. He requested the goddess to play his amazing instrument.
With the knowing desire of Brahmadev, she started playing the Veena and with her melodious sound, in the whole world started getting consciousness. Whatever was in its root state became conscious.
Water & air gots motion and Sound received to world organisms  . Since the whole world was received tone from the music of that goddess, so this reason Brahma named her "Saraswati" and declared her to the master of "music & all kinds of education and knowledge" . At the same time, due to her music "flow of work of the creation was complete" and Brahma gave him the place of his own wife.
According to a legend, by the grace of Goddess Saraswati in Dwapara Yuga, Shri Krishna attained knowledge of all the 64 disciplines in just 64 days. Pleased with this, he expressed a desire to give a boon to Goddess Saraswati.
After the acceptance of Saraswati, Shri Krishna gave him this boon that she would be worshiped on earth and since then the festival of Vasant Panchami is being celebrated. It is also believed that Goddess Parvati sought the help of Goddess Saraswati to break the tapasya of Mahadev.
By accepting her prayers, on the devine inspiration of Goddess Saraswati, Kamadev attacked on Mahadev with his arrow on the day of Vasant Panchami and after then became a part of his anger of Shiva.
On the request of Kamadeva's wife Rati, Mahadev gave the boon that on the day of Vasant Panchami, Kamadeva & Rati also would be worshiped along with Goddess Saraswati. On this day, Lord Rama met Shabari and her half - eaten ate jujube . Since then plum became an integral part of the offerings of Saraswati Puja and without plum the Prasad of Saraswati Puja is not considered complete.
