The festival of Tulsi worship and Tulsi marriage is celebrated throughout the year of India on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
It is said that in Kartik month, all the sins of people who marry Tulsi in their previous lives are destroyed.

It is described in the scriptures that on the Ekadashi (Devsayni Ekadshi) of Ashadha month Shukla Paksha, Lord Vishnu sleeps in Kshirsagar for four months and awakes on Ekadashi of Kartik month Shukla Paksha.

Srihari Vishnu, the Palanhar of the world, is considered a witness in all auspicious works.
But in his sleep (Chaturmas), the auspicious work of marriage etc. is stopped.
Therefore, the law to perform all auspicious work of Hindus in the awakened state of Lord Vishnu is described in the scriptures.
Devotthan Ekadashi is the day of the awakening of Lord Vishnu.
From this day all the auspicious works are started by observing auspicious auspicious marriage, upanayana etc.

According to the mythology of Padmapurana, Lord Vishnu became a stone due to the curse of Vrinda, wife of King Jalandhar, due to which the Lord is also called Shaligram, and devotees worship him in this form as well.

To get rid of this curse, Lord Vishnu had to marry Tulsi in his Shaligram form and from that time on the Ekadashi of Shuklapaksha of Kartik month, Tulsi marriage is celebrated.
According to ancient texts, Tulsi is established on the Navami of Kartik Shukla Paksha and they are married to Tulsi on the day of Ekadashi by making a statue of Lord Vishnu.
Tulsi marriage celebrated on Devothan Ekadashi is a purely auspicious and spiritual affair.

Actually, Tulsi is also called Vishnu Priya. When the gods wake up, the first prayer is heard of Harivallabha Tulsi.
That is why Tulsi marriage is considered to be the reception of the holy muhurat of Dev Jagran.
Tulsi Marriage directly means the calling of God through Tulsi.

The pavilion, bridesmaid, kanyadaan, havan and then preeti-bhoja(banquet), everything is performed with traditional customs.
In this marriage, Shaligram plays the role of groom and Tulsi is bride.

On this day, the Tulsi plant ie bride is covered with red chunri-odhni.
In a Tulsi wedding, all the sixteen makeup items are kept for offering.
